My girlfriend and I met about 2-1/2 years ago at a Jimmy Buffett (you know..."Wastin'' away again in Margaritaville") concert in Vegas. They just announced tour dates and he''s playing in Vegas April 9th....right around the time I want to propose. So I figured this was a sign from God or something. This wasn''t exactly my number 1 choice of ideas, but we are huge Parrotheads (Jimmy Buffett fans) and this is the place we first met.

The great thing about this idea is that I don''t really need to lie about what we''re doing. We''re already going to fly up there a couple days before the concert so we can enjoy our time alone. I plan on popping the questin a couple days before because the Buffett environment (drunken debauchery) isn''t exactly very romantic. Then after, our family and friends can join us for a Buffet-style celebration.

I know there''s a couple other Vegas threads out there, but there wasn''t a whole lot of ideas, so I''m putting this out there. Does anyone have any good unique proposal ideas in Vegas? I''m already privy to the whole Bellagio water fountain thing and the top of the Eiffel tower thing. Has anyone done anything unique in Vegas? Were you able to get the hotel staff to help you out at all? How did everything work out?

I guess my main concern would be doing it in a location where I had a little bit of privacy, but I''m definitly open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Would proposing on a gondola at the Venetian be too public? http://www.venetian.com/attractions/gondola.cfm
That could be fun and romantic..just don't drop the ring in the water! There are a bunch of cozy restaurants with great food along the "river" at the Venetian too (for celebrating afterwards).

Last time I was in Vegas, my BF and I stayed at the Bellagio. This is without a doubt my favorite hotel in Vegas. VERY NICE. We had a lakefront room with spectacular views of both the water fountains and the Eiffel Tower. One night we ordered dinner from room service, turned down the lights and watched the water show (you can tune to the show music using your TV). It was lo-key, luxurious and very romantic. Another idea.

good luck!
