I've been looking at Asscher cuts, specifically the ones with heavily clipped corners, lots of pronounced steps, and a vintage feel. I found one on James Allen under the Emerald category but it has the characteristics of an Asscher that I like. From what I can gather from research on PS so far, I get that Asscher and Emerald can be used somewhat interchangeably on GIA reports.
JA doesn't have an ASET or anything other than a GIA report. I don't mind that it's a little more rectangular rather than perfectly square as long as it doesn't impact how it performs.
I would love input from @Karl_K and others with expertise in this area. I'd like to avoid the dead zones and all the other pitfalls of asscher/emerald cuts. Are there any specs or other clues that cause you concern?
