Help with earring jackets

Hi there. I am looking at 2 different earring jackets for my new diamond studs .

Overnight mountings has the jackets in platinum and looks like the central stone will be at the level of the halo (I like it a lot) but it’s bigger, 3 pts-2mm.

The Stuller comes only in WG and it’s flat , so I guess the halo will be behind the stud, like a flower, but I like that it’s thinner, only 1.3mm.

Also I don’t know if it’s important, but overnight has a jacket for 1.5 karat stud and Stuller’s states 8mm opening. I understand those are not custom made but I would not want to have a gap between the stud and the jacket.

What are your thoughts?
