Hi all,

You have all been so helpful with comments on my rings...the more I look at my eband the more I am dissapointed with the quality of it. Is it normal for the prongs to be ''bent'' sideways to hold the diamonds in? I would send a picture but the macro on my camera can''t capture what I''m talking about. Just imagine that some of the prongs go straight up and some are bent to the left. As a result, some of the diamonds (7 pointers) just look like they are set crooked. The prongs look like they have been ''smashed in'' from years of wear, even though it''s a new ring.

I got the ring done by a wholesaler on 47th st. and he isn''t willing to reset it. Even worse, I think the ring was made too large and it doesn''t sit well on my finger when worn alone. I''m normally somewhere between a 6 and 6.5. The ring was made 6.5 and now that the weather is cooling down, it''s getting too big on my finger already.

Do you know who I should go to to reset the ring, or how much this would cost?

I appreciate your help.

How long have you had it???? Was it custome made for you?? Did you see one before hand??? What is the total ct. wt.. Whiteflash would be my pick by it wont be cheap... The jeweler should make it right.. ;( Did they reset your ering too

I just got it on Monday and after wearing it a few days, realized the flaws. It has 25 diamonds for a 1.74 tcw. It was made for me and I tried on the ''mold'' but the real thing just isn''t right. He is very reluctant to reset it for me without charging me for time and labor - he won''t admit there are flaws. He says it''s natural for it to be like that.

The above thread shows D2B's beautiful eternity band. Do you mean the prongs look bent to the left going towards the end of the ring from the perspective of the top of the ring being at the North position, I think this is normal. When you hold the ring with the stones on the left side at the North position are the prongs straight looking? Do you mean all stones are veering towards the left though?

he needs to fix it... Have you paid ???? He should be concerned about your happiness. If it looks like it has had years of wear then he needs to fix it.... BE TOUGH :)

It''s hard to explain....when looking at the ring straight down from the top, some of the prongs look perfect - like the two little uniform ''dots'' you see from the top. Other prongs are bent in to the left, or to the right, meaning he didn''t do a ''clean'' job when setting the stones in. Some of the stones look ''sunken in'' deeper than other stones. I don''t know how he could think that this is ok. He said, with a custom ring this happens, but this is a straightforward eternity band that should look a lot better.

Tell him you disagree, it''s not right. he needs to remake it. If he disagrees, get an appraisal that verify''s poor workmanship then (I hope you paid with at CC) dispute the charges with the appraisal as evidence. Return the ring to him via some method that he has to sign for it and you get confirmation of signature.

Get your eternity band someplace else.

Could you be able to post a picture? That might help us to get a better feel... I am sorry this has happened to you. Just remember you are the customer and it is their job to make you happy and you don''t STOP until you are!

Thank you for all of your help. He is resetting the ring! A half-size smaller and a different setting to show off the diamonds better. He was very agreeable. I will email you all pictures when I have the ring in two weeks.

That''s great to hear! Can''t wait to see pictures on your new band!

HOOOORAY!!!! That is great news :) WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
