I am currently looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. With the help of DejaWiz, I had already found a round 2.38-carat diamond that I absolutely loved. However, at the time, I estimated that my girlfriend’s ring size was 7.5 US. I have now found out that her actual size is 4.5 US.
This is a significant difference, and I am now concerned that 2.38 carats might be too large. I want a diamond that stands out but isn’t so big that it overwhelms her hand. Therefore, I would appreciate your opinions on what carat size you would recommend for a 4.5 US ring size.
I was thinking that something between 1.5 and 2 carats might be a good choice, but I’m not entirely sure.
Oh and also i wanted to get the diamond set together with a diamondband(2mm), would the diamond then appear way smaller?
My budget is $1000.
