Hi everyone,

Can I get anyone's thoughts on this heart shaped diamond?

Below are some screen shots of the video provided. The stone is a hair over 1 ct, has an IGL cert graded Fancy Champagne, SI1. I asked for additional photos but the seller said they could not provide pictures in outdoor lighting and could not offer additional images (???) I
There is a 30 day return policy with no restocking fee, but won't cover return shipping costs

My questions:
- it is priced just under $1500, does that seem reasonable?
- from the pictures, does it seem like a decent performer? I want to say that the darker areas look like reflection from the camera? I don't see any noticeable "crushed' or "mushy" areas. Graded SI1 and I can see the inclusions when I zoom in on the video they provide, but I don't think they would be visible from 12 inches.
- anything else from the seller I should be asking? Should yellow flags be raised that they couldn't/wouldn't provide more photos?

It is hard to say much about the cut. The pavilion does not seem overly deep (a common problem with hearts).
A video would help - if you have one upload it to YouTube and link it.
Is the color uniform - often the table region will appear more saturated than the crown facets.
It is not appropriate for me to comment on the price - but $1,500 for a 1ct eye clean diamond speaks for itself.

Thanks for your insight @Garry H (Cut Nut) . I decided to purchase it and see it myself. I liked the price, video looked nice, and it's pretty low risk given 30 day return policy.

Here's the link:

The vendor described color as similar to the color of champagne when poured into a clear glass. It is a delicate combination of light brown with a tinge of yellow.

Would love to hear thoughts even though I've already purchased

You could probably buy a better stone for $1500 but if you like it, that's all that matters. I'd prefer a stone with a deeper colour (like a C3/C4 on the Argyle scale). The video is a bit hard to judge by as the colour seems a little scattered. It'll be hard to say how it presents in actual size in real life but I hope it's exactly what you wanted. The shape looks lovely.

Thanks for your thoughts @monipod

I'm sure I could get a better stone for $1500 but I have been casually looking for a heart shaped for years, and most of what I saw in the price range are either smaller than I want, or didn't seem attractive to my eyes. While the color is actually a little lower than I prefer, I have to compromise somewhere, and I think I could make the best of it by playing up the color. If I decide to keep I will likely post again for setting ideas.

There's definitely a point when you have to stop looking and pull the trigger. I think if the brown is more prominent, it'd look gorgeous in rose gold. Please update the post with new pics when it arrives!

Hey guys! I just wanted to put an update out there the I purchased the stone and decided to keep it. There was no way to accurately photograph the stone myself, so I waited for my ring to be done. I sent my stone to David Klass who did a fabulous job with making a gorgeous ring. Here is close to the final product, I asked him to shave down the roundels a bit, but I'm so happy with it and can't wait to see it with my own eyes.

Here's a screen shot from the video since I don't know how to upload the video:

Awwwww I love it. So sweet! I was never a fan of hearts but something changed in me the last few years and I love them! I’m glad you stuck with it and have a lovely piece of jewelry for it!

I love it. So crazyI was literally stalking .50 pink heart stones for a pendant. Your ring came out beautiful

Omg i love it! It's gorgeous! Please post loads more pics when it arrives!
Interesting what gary said about not having a deep pavilion in hearts- i actually dislike shallow/flatter heart stones. Guess we are all different.

Awww, love the setting you chose for it! Can't wait to see more pictures!
