Help with oval

Hello, I am looking to upgrade my ring to a 4 carat oval… The only problem is, I only really know anything about rounds. I was planning on going to New York with my husband in February and we were going to look, as I like to look in person, I think I can see the sparkle better, can anyone help steer me in the correct direction? I was planning on going to one of the places that I follow on Instagram but I don’t know if that’s a bad idea or not I’m scared to buy something online without seeing it what I want it’s just a solitaire oval and I’ve seen a couple on the sites I follow that the ladies are based in New York, any help or input is appreciated .. I’ve been waiting on this one for a while. I want a colorless, but very sparkly ring.

Buying expensive items online without seeing them in person is absolutely terrifying for me!

So, I only shop through sites after reviewing and saving a screenshot or .pdf of their return policy. I couple that with shopping via PayPal and with a credit card that has buyer protection. These are the only things that help me feel safer.

In the diamond district especially if looking for a larger stone I would see if you can visit Mike Nekta. He generally has a lot of premade, large size rings available that you could view and compare.
