Hey everyone! My FI and I went looking for wedding band ideas this weekend, and while he is pretty settled on what he would like (one from Facets), we are stuck a little on mine.

Here are my options:

1. Get a ''matching'' band to my e-ring made, which would leave a significant gap between them when I wear them.

2. Get a shared prong eternity band and wear them on two hands.

I''m not sure what my preference is, but if it helps, my FI prefers me wear two rings on different hands...he thinks a wedding band takes away from the e-ring...which of course he loves!!

Here''s a pic of my ering to refresh your memory...

Here it is:

And here is the side view where you can see the little ring of diamonds that prevents a band from sitting flush...

Your ring is beautiful BTW! They have anniversary bands designed for the 3 stone erings; maybe that would work with it. Enhancers or rings wraps might work great too. You''ll have to go try on a lot of rings to see what you like with it. Darn, how sad is that to travel around to multiple jewelry stores and try on rings? Have fun!

gosh, i''m a huge fan of wedding rings/e-rings on the same hand but you''ve got such a pretty side view a band would cover up the pave on the donut. I think a thin pave matching band would easily work with your e-ring but there would be nothing wrong at all with getting an eternity band you could wear on your right hand. If it were me, I''d choose the pave band though and wear them together. But i''m not a RHR girl either...

I''m not a fan of splitting the rings between hands. Could you get a custom band made? Gorgeous ER btw!

Hi Octoberbride,
I have a very similar ring to yours and am suffering the same dilemma currently! I went to try on the matching band to my ring yesterday. I like it, but I don''t think I love it. I wanted pave like nothing else, but now I am not sure that I want the matching band. I spoke to my fiance yesterday and tried to expain to him that I might want to maybe pick out a non-matching band and wear my engagement ring on the right. I am a bit torn. I don''t want to hurt his feelings and move the ring out of its spot. He seemed ok with the idea, but I am still not sure. I am interested in hearing what everyone says. Good luck in your decision. Did you pick out any bands that you like so far? I really like the swing ring from tiffany. someone put it on the board last week. prior to that I hadn''t heard of it.

haha yeah it is really rough trying on rings :-)

I''m not super keen on getting a band that I can''t wear alone (i.e. one of the curved ones) only because I would like that option of wearing it solo.

I too like sets, especially if it is a simple solitaire and a great eternity band

however I''m not getting the same feeling when I see mine with a band. Don''t get me wrong...I lOVE my ring...I just don''t love the sets that I''ve tried...

Thanks for replying!

Actually, my FI would prefer I wear the e-ring on my left hand full time and the band on my right. I always thought I would switch them, but he thinks it would seem excessive for a ring this big to be on my right hand. Excessive? He mustn''t be a Pricescoper!!

Hmm...well I''m looking forward to seeing what you do aswell! Good luck and keep me posted!

OMG Pavelover...I jsut checked your ring thread and we have almost identical rings! That is nuts!! Our FI''s have good taste eh? haha

Now you DEFINITELY have to keep me posted as to what you decide or if you find anything great!! I''ll do the same!

What a hard decision both of you need to make. That ring is truly stunning! I wouldn''t want a wedding band with it either! It truly stands on it''s own. But I understand not wanting to wear it on the right hand either. Good luck making a decision! Sorry I have no suggestions.

Such a beautiful engagement ring. I agree with your FI that it stands on its own.

But there are going to be many times when you won''t be able to wear that beauty because you are doing things that would risk damage to it.

My suggestion is to get a simple plain wedding band for cleaning, travelling, cooking, gardening, etc. Then swap out the e-ring and wear the w-ring depending on your activities. Trust me, you will end up wearing that w-band a lot more than you think you will right now. Depending on the style your FI picked, yours could be a match to his.

Good luck!!

Thanks! I suppose I could get a band to match his..however I was thinking this is a great opportunity to shorten my wait time for a shared prong eternity band!!

Hahaha is that bad?

I will try to take a pic of my ring with a band next to it to give you all an idea of what Im seeing...I''ll do that tonight sometime hopefully!

hey october,
what happened to the picture of the eternity band with your ring? I wanna see

!

Well it isn''t an eternity band...but here is an idea of what it looks like with a band...

Sorry that the pics are so dark. I did it right now before bed and there is only a yellow light bulb!

And a side view

You can see how it sits funny? I''m not really loving it.

I actually was in contact with Daniel K about the matching band, and while it is pretty, I am not sure if I want the gap you know? Plus while I love the thin band for the ering, I was hoping for one with a bit more "pow" for the wedding band so I could wear it solo.

Hmmm...what do you think?

hey october,
i was reading about how you were in touch with daniel k. i think we are ring twins. is yours the rosebud? mine is.. so funny. how do youfeel about the plain band? are you liking it? I am thinking i would like a different band and wear it on the right like mrs s. suggested. do you have a place where youcan try on the daniel k in person? just curious- where do you live? keep me posted on the band search...

Oh I definitely would not wear a plain band with it. It''s just the smallest band I had to give you an idea of what it looked like with a band. The more I think about it, the more I think I''m going to get a band to go on the other hand. I really do think this ring can stand on its own...especially since I don''t think it looks amazing with a band. So far.

If you come up with any solutions that don''t involve a curved band, I''d love to hear it!

I''m in Toronto, so the closest Daniel K dealer is about 1.5 hours away. Daniel K said they''d send the band there, but honestly, for what they quoted me and how dainty the band is, I don''t think I can justify it. Especially when I don''t *love* the look of the band with the e-ring.

You know?
