Ugh where to start I'm 21.i've been with my boyfriend for almost a yr,It'll be november 23rd.He's leaving for tempe,arizona in january 2006.for college for 2 1/2 yrs.He'll be back once a yr for x-mas.We've discussed marriage and etc.But how long should I wait?

welll I'll also be in New york back with my parents when he leaves,we've also been living together for the past,10 months.I'm just not really sure if it'll work out in the end.His mom is a strick catholic she doesn't believe we shoud be living together,that we should be married before doing what we're doing.Can anyone please help?

That is a really personal question. But you could see him over summer breaks and others. You can find student deals on travel and what not. You say he is going to Tempe, where are you living now? Are you in school? Long distance relationships can work.
If you post more information about your situation people will be able to give better advice.

Hey there Becca, I''m in Tempe and I wanted to give you a little scoop on the area. I assume he''s going to ASU?

ASU is a nasty school. It has a terrible (or fabulous, depending on your point of view) reputation as a party school, a school you attend for the nightlife, not the education. In fact, I think it hit MTV''s top 10 party schools recently.

I know this isn''t terrifically reassuring and this is probably going to come across as heartless but I wanted to say it because of three things: 1) you''re young, 2) you haven''t been dating very long and 3)ASU seriously has an exceedingly trashy reputation. So I hope you have a very trusting relationship because this valley has no conscience. Long-distance is hard enough (ask anybody who''s tried it!), I can''t imagine having to do LD with this much temptation.

How long should you wait? ...how long do you want to wait? How strong do you feel your relationship is right now? What have you discussed about marriage? Why do you want to marry him?

I think if you get through these next few years together as a couple you are meant for each other and have a very strong relationship. Do I think you should rush into marriage and move to AZ with him? NO WAY! Do I think any 21 year old should after ONLY a year of dating? NO WAY! I think the last reason you should get married is for convenience. Just try to make it work if you love each other. If will be hard (FI and I were long-distance) but he chose to go off to school. Not much you can do about that. If it is meant to be, it will. Good luck.
