traditionally, how does this work?

1. bride/groom dance
2. father/daughter dance
3. groom/his mom dance??

is that true??

and if so, my father passed away so i will be dancing with my uncle -- and am going to let him pick the song. something fun that won''t make me all emotional.

but, darling FI and i were chatting over lunch and realized -- what the hell should he dance to with his 63 year old mom??

SUGGESTIONS!!! please!!

Oh man, I can''t remeber which magazine (may have been Bride''s or ModernBride) had an article with tons of song suggestions in all categories(Mom with Groom, Dad with Bride, etc.). It was the latest issue but I am so sorry, I can''t remember which mag it was. Maybe someone here or on TheKnot will remember.

ooh i hope so!
and any song suggestions or what you are doing would be great! he''s not overly emotional with his mom but we want something appropriate!

we did the bride/father dance to ''the way you look tonight'' by sinatra, and the groom/mother just joined in halfway thru... that worked out pretty well.

I do remember that list too in one of the mags, don''t remember which!

I think that we''re going to do the mother/son and father/daughter dances at the same time, to the same song. That way, the attention can be divided btwn us - the idea of dancing while everyone watches makes me kinda nervous!

good idea dancing together -- my main thing is, since my father passed away i''ll be dancing with my uncle.

my uncle is a complete goof. he''s more like a brother than a father figure. so alot of the songs are TOO hokey for us.

i was chatting with y mom and we thought some fun ones would be:

what a wonderful world

forever young

in my life (the beatles)

etc.. who knows.
