Here is my beautiful solitaire! I absolutely love the classic look! We are currently in the market for an eternity band to use as my wedding band and I want to find one that would compliment my ring but also add substantial bling! I know that one with round stones would look good (was thinking U-prong) but I was hoping to make it a more "unique" look. Any suggestions??

Your ring looks beautiful! Did you recently become engaged? If so, BEST WISHES!

Do you have the stats of your ring to share?

If you want something a little different how about a diamond and colored stone eternity band? I'm thinking something like this:

You could get a milgrained band if you want a more antiquey look. Or any color that you like, really.

I love your ring! I am a fan of solitaire settings too. I just ordered a band from The Facets collection. They have alot of choices. Talk to leah she is really great!

Oops! Should have put the stats in the first post:

This is from memory...
2.4ish ct. Round Brilliant; I/SI2 (eye clean); faint flour; diam. approx 8.6 mm
size 6 finger

I like the idea of a colored band too...may have to try that on but probably the fiance won't go for that, he's very into a classic look (hence the solitaire)

Haven--We have been engaged for a while now, and getting married in a few short months! Recently found this site and its so helpful to see different types of rings!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Your solitaire certainly is a beauty :))

Word of caution - if you plan to wear them together regularly (I assume you do) and you choose an eternity design that leaves diamond girdles exposed (lots of u-prong, shared-prong, etc. designs do), you'll want to pick up a thin spacer to wear between them, so the diamond girdles don't eat into the prongs & shank of your Ering.

Love the eternity Haven posted! I'm thinking something with channel-set french-cut sapphires would be really pretty, too :sun:

One more close up....also, what is everyone's thoughts about the prongs? I feel like they might be a little prominent, should I get them shaved down or something??

I would have the prongs shaved down a bit if it bothers you. Mine were like that when my fiance proposed and I had mine shaved down a bit and I am MUCH happier with the ring. I felt like the large prongs made the stone look square. The only thing is, I think the diamond is better protected with the thicker prongs so if you wear your rings all the time, it might not be a good idea to have them shaved...

I think it would help a lot if you could go to a store and just try on different size bands. My preference is to wear a smaller diamond wedding band so that the e-ring stone is "the star". I'd love to have a larger eternity like you are considering, but I'd wear it alone when I didn't want to wear my wedding set. But if you do like the look of the larger band to wear with your e-ring, I do agree that you will need to wear a spacer band so that the eternity diamonds don't cut into the e-ring.
