Paul of infinity diamonds(through Wink) did the recut he brought a dead diamond back to life now it has a lot of tiny sparkles from edge to edge.the stone is mounted on a (cheap) 14k wg size 4.75, 3 mm,6 prong cathedral style setting. i would sacrafice the weight for a ideal cut H&A any day, but the wife perfers the bigger size. i purchased the stone about 8 years ago as a I VS stone with no cert. well at least i didn't get riped off(on the color & clarity) by the vendor. AGS certified the stone ideal 0 cut.

(HCA 1.0,AGA 1A cut)
AGS ideal 0 cut
Weight 1.15 ct
Color I
Clarity VS 2
Measurements: 6.80 x 6.82 x 4.14
Crown angle: 34.1 height: 14.9%
PAV angle: 40.8 depth: 42.9%
Table: 56%
total depth: 60.9%
girdle: 1.2-1.5%
Fluorescence: Negligible

Are you saying your wife doesn't like it now that it's been re-cut?

Are you going to have to give her your 3 carat?

LOL! I never knew that was you. I am always amazed when I see someone's posts for months and do work for them, then finally put their street name with their internet name!

With an HCA 0f 1.0 I am thinking that is a tremendous improvement over that stone when we first received it. Did you ever do an HCA on it before it was recut?

What does your wife think of the difference now that this stone has some zip?

patty,
she likes the stone, but she prefers a bigger size. i prefer an ideal cut. it's too late now. i already ordered a custom made gents ring for the 3 ct., but really, it looks too big; i prefer a 2.75 ct range. sooner or later i will probably put it into a ladies ring for her. i still haven't forget, if something happens to me, i'll make sure my wife sends you the 3 ct. LOL.

wink,
a special thanks to you for hooking up with paul to do the recut. i didn't know what the HCA was before the recut. all i know is that it's was a 60-60 and it had no crown heigth, it was as flat as a pancake. my wife likes the new sparkle, but she prefers a bigger size. but i've always prefered a top ideal cut. what good is size when it doesn't sparkle?

vtigger, thanks for remembering! Now, will you please send me your home address, work address and schedule, make and model of you car and your license number?
