I'm new here, but I have posted a few times already - I just requested that I be added to the list, so here is my little introduction.

I'm 24 and my boyfriend is 26. We have been dating for just over a year, and we have been talking about getting engaged for a long time. We started looking at rings in about February/March, and we have gone to several different jewelry stores and looked at a lot of different websites.

We finally found our perfect diamond about two weeks ago, so we went ahead and had it set, and my boyfriend picked it up just a couple of days ago. I have not seen the finished ring yet, because he wants there to be some element of surprise, but we picked the diamond together (a beautiful princess cut), and I also picked out the setting (classic Tiffany setting in platinum) I am now waiting for him to propose, but I know that it won't be right away, because he wants to wait until after his cousin's wedding (which is two weeks away).

I am sooo excited for our future together!

It is a GIA-certified 1.53 carat princess cut, F color, eye-clean SI1, with excellent polish and symmetry. We wanted to buy in person, and since GIA doesn't grade cut on fancy-shaped diamonds, we decided to pick one that we think is super sparkly - and this is it!

We actually met through an online dating site - okcupid. I met sooo many bad guys on there before I found him, but I was actually the first girl that he met on the site. We talked online for awhile, and then met for dinner and a movie. We went on more dates, and we started to see each other more frequently. After a month or so, we made things official.

We live in NC, but he was actually scheduled to fly across the country for a business trip in California only about a month later. The week after that was his aunt's wedding in Washington state. He says that he knew that I was special right away, and that he wanted me to attend the wedding with him, since his family is very rarely all together like that - he just wanted me to meet them, even though we had not been together for very long yet.

He bought me a plane ticket and I flew to Seattle (I had to fly alone on the way there, since he was already in CA for the business trip, and was flying directly from CA to Seattle) - which was an adventure, because I had not been on a plane since middle school. It was a lot of fun though, and we had a great time in Washington.

It all worked out wonderfully, and we are so ready to take the next step!
