Hi :wavey: I'm new, but I've been lurking for a LONG time lol I always would just come here and drool over everyone's gorgeous rings, but now I finally have my own to add! Yay! It isn't anything spectacular, but I love it. We actually found it at a pawn shop (I know :GASP:) and it was an absolute steal, so I had to get it. I'm pretty sure it's an OEC. I have no idea about weight or anything like that. The jeweler estimated .8 carats from it's diameter, but it has a high crown so who knows. It does have some warmth to it, but only in certain light. It's very clean, I can't see anything from the top (and I've tried really hard) and I can only see one tiny tiny black spec from the side. The setting is kind of beat up. I actually didn't notice it was until I started taking macro pictures, it looks pretty decent without being mega magnified lol It was a size 11 1/4 when I bought it, and I had it sized down to 8 1/4 and replated. Well, enough with the yapping, and on to the pictures!

It's beautiful! Great price for it too. Grats.

Beautiful! The facet pattern is really delicious! I enjoy bling so much more when it's a good deal.

Thanks so much everyone! Here's another picture lol you can never have too many right? I think I got a fingerprint on it taking it off to take this one, but I love how the middle looks like a flower  I'd really love to reset it someday, but for now I really do love this setting. Does anyone know what these kind of prongs are called?

Yum! Those are fishtail prongs. Also, that flower pattern is called kozibe I think, very desirable!

Kelpie - that's not a Kozibe effect. The Kozibe is when the open culet is reflected around the gemstone so, in effect, you see lots of culets! See photo below.

Paisley Girl - what a stunning find! It definitely looks like an OEC. Many congratulations on a beautiful ring.

i also got my ring at a pawn shop. there ARE some serious deals to be had if you're :
1) open-minded about choices, selections, etc.
2) patient
3) well-educated on prices, gradings, etc.

your stone has some serious character. a one-of-a-kind!
