Hi there! Newbie needing some advice about oval diamond.

Hi there I’m on the fence about prong settings for an oval solitaire set in a very thin cathedral mount. Should I go with traditional 4 prong, 6 prong, or East West style? If anyone has photos of their ovals, I’d be delighted to see. Thank you so much.

Very thin is OK for dress jewelry, but the vast majority of rings being made these days will not last a decade of everyday office wear.
Most ovals have fairly thick girdles so 4 prong is fine.
East west is for alternative folk - if that's you go for it.
 
Just going to post a few (not mine)...All CVB designs. How big is your stone? If this is my main ring I prefer setting it N/S with 6 prongs
(minimum...if its a big stone). If its a "for fun" ring then I would consider setting it E/W. You really haven't given us any/enough information about the stone to have an opinion.




8 prong...only works on bigger stones IMO
