I''m having a hell of a time trying t replace my timberland hiking boots that I bought 7 years ago. I like a hiking boot to come up over my ankle, to be vented out the sides, and to have substantial tread (not itty bitty nubs that wear off in 100 miles). I am not against spendign money on a quality shoe, but nobody seems to carry what I am looking for. I went to the North Face, and REI and haven''t found what I seek.

Thanks,
John

Timberland trail boots at Nordstrom

Timberland hiking boots at Zappos

The North Face hiking boots (suitable for 5 days hike carrying 50 lbs of gear)... read the product descriptions in the blue section at Zappos- they have a lot of info.

Zappos link to search for Mens>Athletic>Hiking Boots

I have bought a lot of shoes from Zappos... they have free shipping and if you don''t like the shoe/boot, you just send it back. They also have multi views so you can look at even the bottom of the boot to see the tread.

Hi, I started a thread in Hangout a couple of months ago for hiking boots. You can read the suggestions if you like; I ended up at REI and they helped me find some great ones. Happy Hiking
