Just wanted to share with all of you - my sweetie and I were snuggling this morning and casually discussing sparklies, and I told him how the other teachers I work with want him to propose before June so they can see the ring before summer vacation. He laughed, but then reassured me that they will get to see it because he has a date picked out before then.

Last week he was saying July, now he is another month ahead! He is experiencing proposal-creep, I guess.

I am so excited! April starts this week, and if he wants to ask me before June then that is just a few weeks. We have a trip to Florida over Easter weekend planned, and in May we have many upcoming events, like my birthday, his law school graduation, his open house, and our 4 year anniversary. That''s a lot of possible events. Yayayayay!

I finally found a web photo of the ring I like at a local jeweler''s. I emailed it to my BF and he printed it and wrote down all the specs for it, as he wants to take it to an additional jeweler who can possibly do better on price. The web photo does not do this ring justice. It''s a solid 14k white gold band, with four RBs surrounding the center prongs, .48 TCW. I tried this on with a 1.04 RB I/SI1 dropped in and it was gorgeous. I like the elegant simplicity, and the proportion of the side stones to a 1 carat+ center stone. It has a matching five stone .50 TCW wedding band, and I think it would also be nice with a solid band...

Any thoughts on this setting, ladies? The price tag on this listed the cost at $1125 - is this a good deal?

congratulations! i like the simple design too. not sure about the price, I''m sure others can help with that. i''m excited too b/c my bf is getting the proposal creep too...i hope it creeps up soon b/c i cant take the wait anymore. i want to show it off to my coworkers b/c all of the teachers/admin keep asking me when and I''d like to finally shut them up! lol....good luck!

I know, I have had two fellow teachers get engaged at my school recently and our science teacher is getting ready to ask his girlfriend soon. It''s sweeping the building, but hasn''t gotten to me yet.

Are they checking your hand on Mondays? I have about three of them who all come up and eyeball my left hand every Monday morning, just to see if I am sparkling yet! I always have to say, "No, my weekend wasn''t that great..." LOL

That''s great!! He has so many great opportunities too. Just be careful not to expect that any one weekend will be when he proposes, and then get disappointed. I kind of did that with our latest anniversary, when he took me to the restaurant where we had our first real date.

I have a terrible time imagining stones in settings, but that looks like it should be very elegant and pretty. I also have no idea if that''s a good deal, but I''m sure that someone will.

I keep having people grab my hand, and it''s funny because I seriously would tell them if I had gotten engaged over the weekend! I wouldn''t just wait around for them to ask after seeing a ring on my finger -- I''d be way to excited.

Indy- Dressage rider here. In high school, I did equestrian team and did a little bit of saddleseat and hunt seat and trail, but I have been mainly into dressage since I was twelve. Not on my horse much now, but I plan to get out to ride him more often now that my teaching is winding down towards summer.

I am trying not to focus all my hopes on any given day, and I have told him this too. For all I know, it could be any average day of the week instead of the special events I named. I am happy knowing that he is thinking about rings and getting ready to purchase. He has printed off information from two different Detroit area jewelers in the last two days here.

We actually found a ring photo online today that has a very similar setting to what is posted above, for much much less money. It has a thinner width to the band when viewed from above and has the same placement of four rounds around the center prongs, though these are .38 TCW. I am still preferring the slightly larger and wider band, so he may go to the other store for a loose stone, he says, and see if he can get a pricematch on the setting I like. More money to spend on the center diamond if he gets a deal on the band...

Cool! I ride dressage too. Well I did ride dressage but I have been too busy with college and health problems and such. My family actually breeds dressage/jumper/event horses. I would love to see a picture of your horse

And I will be crossing my fingers for an earlier proposal for you!!!
