Hmmmmm...I *might* have figured out his plans...

Last night K and I were talking and he mentioned that he wanted to take me horseback riding for Valentine''s Day. I used to ride competitively but haven''t been able to since I ripped up my shoulder a few years back.

This morning the phone rang and it was the gal from the stable, wanting to talk to him to make arrangements. K immediately went into the office and shut the door to take the call. I was in the process of cleaning the house and while he was on the phone I went to get the vacuum and overheard part of the conversation. I heard him saying "That will be the real surprise, even more than getting to ride."

Hmmmmmmmmmm, maybe? He has the ring and I''m guessing I will get it sooner rather than later. While horseback riding would be an absolutely perfect time. We are aiming to go the afternoon of the 11th, just a week from Monday!

I used to ride competitively a long time ago, but haven''t for years. Did you ride hunter/jumper?

I rode dressage for many many years. I jumped a bit, but I was mostly too wimpy for that! There is an equestrian thread in the Family forum - come check it out!

Our ride day got pushed back by one day because his step-mother''s memorial service was moved up a day. So now the service is next Monday and the ride is next Tuesday. Guess this means I get to start my "one-week" countdown again tomorrow! This week is going to be insane at work and hopefully that means it will go fast!

Six days and counting!!!

I am soooo excited. Even if "it" doesn''t happen, at least I will get a chance to ride, to bury my face in the neck of a horse, and to spend a wonderful afternoon with the best guy in the world.

He had stashed the ring in his safe at work, but he casually mentioned that he brought it home from work today. Even more reason for me to think it may be Tuesday!

Ok, I am really thinking that tomorrow might be the day!!!!!!!!!!!

This evening we had dinner with his family and the "ring" conversation came up. As we were saying goodbye to them his sister asked him when it would happen and he shrugged his shoulders, then as I went to say goodbye to the next person I heard him whisper "tomorrow."

Our horseback riding is scheduled for 9 tomorrow morning. Just 14 hours!!!!!!!

I'm excited but at the same time I am very calm about it. I expected ot be much more excited but mostly I am just extremely happy.
