my fiance and i were all set on a romantic getaway to paris and the french riviera, but life got in the way. for a number of reasons we''re limited on how far we can travel and how many days we''ll be away. so now i think we''re going to hawaii, but we don''t know anything about it! is september an ok time to go? we''ll be flying from san diego (where our destination wedding will be) on monday and returning on saturday. we''d like a day of relaxing on the beach, but are more interested in hiking in a tropical rain forest, kayaking and being active. i''d love any advice anyone has on the different islands and hotels!

thanks!

Well I am from Hawaii so I can try to help you out. I think September is a great time to go because it is still really warm and sunny (compared to winter months). First you should decide which island you want to go to. Oahu is great, lots to do but a lot more crowded then other islands. Right now Hawaiian Air has a special on tickets from san to maui. Each of the islands would be able to provide you with hiking and out door adventures. I personally love the big island, the snorkling in Kona is unbelievble and you can hike around the volcano. Hilo side has tons of rainfall like hiking with lots of waterfalls. You can also go horseback riding and see some incredible views. The Hilton Waikola is a beautiful hotel.

You could also look into doing one of the cruises around all the islands. That way you could experience it all and the activities off the boat are great.

Hope this helps, Justine
