Dancing_ Fire's post about "Daddy paying" really got me thinking about how the ladies were considering (or I guess if they were) honoring their dearly departed?

I know I mentioned a chair for SO's mom, during the service, with a tulip and a beautiful rosary (which we'll give SO's dad afterwards) on it. Obviously it will be beside SO's dad in the front row. I just feel like she should be there represented in some way. I never imagined her not being there, honestly it has been like 5 months and it's still so weird to go to SO's Dad's house and not see her making rice or cooking chicken.

When the time comes, I definitely will be honoring my grandparents who aren't with us anymore, plus my FF's grandmother who passed away. I am thinking of doing picture charms on my bouquet, something like this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/13258002/cu ... oto-memory

I would love to hear other peoples' ideas of what you'll be doing. Its very important to me to honor those that are not with us at the wedding.

I am probably going to do this. Both my maternal and paternal grandparents have passed and SO's paternal grandparents have passed as well. My cousin did the picture charms and I loved it. I definitely want to remember our grandparents at our wedding and I think this is a great idea.

I've actually never seen these before, and honestly I love it! Thanks for sharing : D

I love those charms. Very nice idea and keepsake. My daughter was married a few years ago and she lost a friend who would have been a bridesmaid in a car accident, they had her bouqet on the alter and it was mentioned in the program "The flowers on the alter are in memory of"and a little about her and there friendship and then they gave the flowers to her parents at the end of the ceremony, a bittersweet moment in the day.

No problem! I think its a cool idea :) I'm at least 2 years away from getting married, but I'm already thinking of things :P

I'm going to have a pictures of my father on the sign in table along with pictures of me and FF. I think I'm also going to use the charms... lovely idea!
