In the middle of a particularly P.I.T.A. day at work today, I got a text from my boyfriend saying not to worry, my ring will be ready before we leave on our vacation
We leave Monday for 8 days in Hawaii. You can take me off the list next week!!!
I AM SO EXCITED! (and SO HAPPY!)

(and yes, I realize none of this is a huge surprise for me or anything because I know it is coming, but I'll still break down and cry and all that good stuff. For me, a very expensive ring shouldn't be a huge surprise, and neither should wanting to spend our lives together, so I'm not at all disappointed about knowing when it's coming...)

That is so exciting!!!! Where in Hawaii are you going? I went to Oahu last July, and I'm dying to go back. It's absolutely beautiful.

Yay! I knew the time frame of when my DH was going to propose (based on when the ring arrived and the date by which he wanted to propose) and it was still exciting. The anticipation aspect, knowing the proposal was coming soon, was fun.

Don't forget to come back to tell us your proposal story and show us hand shots.

we are going to Kauai. We love hiking, being in nature, and being low-key, so I think it will be the perfect island for us.
I almost feel like I'm going to pop, I'm so full of excitement and joy! I don't know exactly when on the trip he'll propose, but I did tell him (kiddingly) that if he makes me wait until the very end of the week it will drive me insane! spending 16 or so hours traveling next to him, knowing the ring is in his pocket, might also be the death of me. I might have to go through his pockets while he's sleeping on the plane...
I love that after we're back, I'll have the excitement of going home for Thanksgiving and showing everyone the ring. The only bad thing is he won't be able to make the trip to my family's house for Thanksgiving because of work.
Don't worry, I will SO come back and tell you the story and post lots of pictures! Hand shots might have to wait until a day or two after I get back and get a nice manicure - I'm not getting my fingers done before we go because I know I'll just chip them. Toes and bikini wax though...

I also knew when the ring was in the house and it did not detract from the proposal at all -- in fact I really enjoyed those days of knowing for sure that it was coming, but not exactly when.

Btw we leave Monday for Hawaii too. Maybe I will get to see your gorgeous oval in person!

I keep thinking - only one more week left as a "single" woman... I'm glad we're not planning on getting married for a year and a half or so - all the pre-proposal excitement has already worn me out!

Before we got engaged (i knew mr snoopkat was gonna pop the question on our holiday), I kept thinking about all the things I was doing and how I was doing them as a single woman for the last time. Some of it were quite silly (like taking the escalator up from the train station for the last time as a single woman ) but it really helped me cherish my last few days as a 'singleton' and made the countdown alot more enjoyable.
