How much time do you guys spend on PS?

Where do you post (home/work or somewhere else)?

Does your partner mind the amount of time you spend on PS? And do they worry you might catch the upgrade/shrinkage disease?

Do you NEED a PS fix everyday

I almost always am on at work (bad, I know

). I usually keep it minimized allllll day and whenever I just can''t take staring at such and such spreadsheet anymore, I pop over and browse a few threads, but I haven''t been posting much lately because I''m trying to be good about wasting toooooooooo much of my work time! (Hehe, you can see how THAT''S working out for me!

)

But also at home, if I appear interested in the computer for more than about 30 seconds, my fiance always asks, "Pricescope?" And it isn''t ALWAYS, but, you know, sometimes it is!
3.gif
And he makes fun of me LIKE CRAZY for it, but doesn''t seem too concerned about shrinkage (since I constantly reassure him - but I HAVE gotten him to agree to get me diamond earrings as a wedding day present!
31.gif
But the official terms are that I only get those if they''re my last diamonds I request of him...

Yes, I''d say I''m on every single workday no matter what, at least for a little bit, but most weekends I''m PS-free.

I get on PS from home...it's really my "downtime" each day. Sometimes I jump on to check if anyone's gotten engaged, and then move on to other stuff, and sometimes I read more threads and post. It varies, depending on how much time I have to get other stuff done, usually.

Matt doesn't mind too much that I'm on PS... although he attributes it to my desire for a 1 ct center ston. See, we were looking at 3/4's at B&M stores --- found we could get more for the money here! At least, that's how *I* saw it -- he saw it as we could get a better deal on the 3/4. Ah well, my center stone is a 1.05

When I was pregnant with each of my boys, I hung out on a baby forum b/c I liked talking to other people who are in the same boat as me. This is really the same.

No I don't NEED a PS fix, but I certainly enjoy it.

Well, usually I''m at work, but sometimes I actually have work to do,

, so I also keep mine minimized- don''t want people to think I''m lazy! Now that we got a new laptop, I''ve been on PS more at night, while Paul is sleeping. He knows I''m here, and he''s fine with it. He calls PS my "friends".

I''m not sure how much time I spend here...it varies. Right now, I''m not working until school starts again in August and my two graduate classes this summer have ended. So, I''m not incredibly busy at the moment. M and I have been long distance since the end of February so that leaves even more free time. When I visit him I don''t spend any time on the computer unless I''m there at a time when he has an event or game to work and I stay at home. I do have a week-long class at the end of July...9-4 every day for one week. I imagine I''ll be busy getting those assignments done since we have one project due 3 out of the 5 days we''ll be in class.
M isn''t worried about DSS, but I don''t think he knows what it is.

He has actually mentioned an upgrade himself...he has an heirloom diamond that he will most likely be giving to me. His parents said it''s about 1/2 carat and he would like to pass it down to our children...so when that happens he''ll buy me (and I quote) "a bigger and badder ring." So cute.

I honestly wouldn''t mind having his 1/2 carat for the rest of my life and who knows what''ll happen, but I have always dreamt of at least a full carat and PS isn''t helping!

I don''t NEED a PS fix every day, but I love coming here to read everyone''s stories and look at these beautiful diamonds/gemstones!

I get on PS from home while I'm job searching, which is pretty much all day. I'm not on as much once the ff gets home from work, but I do browse a bit when he starts playing his video games.

He doesn't mind that I'm on here. It keeps me occupied so that I'm not bored out of my mind during this short (everyone cross your fingers on that) period of unemployment for me.

When I am not on the road for work, I am working from a home office (which is just the BEST THING!). So it''s my form of the water cooler. It can get very quiet working from home, but it definitely beats getting interrupted by annoying coworkers. I have the freedom to interrupt myself and read my two forums, of which pricescope is one.

I initially came here a couple of years ago to research the Lucida ring, because I knew there had to be a cheaper alternative. And there certainly was! I decided against a knockoff, but got something similar in band width. I took a break for about a year because I didn''t need to do any researching, but started posting with regularity about 6 months ago, I think.

I like reading here because there really are "all kinds."

on man, I definitely need my pricescope fix. I''m a phd student so my work hours are long, but flexible. Sometimes I go to the office to work, sometimes I stay home and do my research. I use pricescope as a break from my work. I''ll work for 45 min and then spend 10 min on pricescope. It clears my mind and I get to look at fun bling instead. I really love the community aspect of pricescope as well. My fiance doesn''t understand, but I feel like I actually know some of you.

Yes, my fiance thinks it is silly...but he''s coming around, he sees jewelry and pricescope as a hobby now instead of something more frivolous. He plays video games and spends money on sporting equipment and electronics, and my hobby is jewelry and running. We both spend about the same on our hobbies.

I''ve definitely become inflicted with the upgrade bug, and it''s at least partially due to pricescope. I''m going to try to stay rational about it though, and save it for a few years from now or as a reward for finishing my phd or something. I''m a big fan of rewarding yourself for a job well done or at least a job done LOL. I got myself a garnet ring for getting my first big grant and finishing a field exam, and I''ll probably buy something else smaller after I finish my masters thesis in March. I''ve already started a savings account for the next upgrade, it''s building up slowly! My family doesn''t know about my obsession, and they would think it was wasteful behavior if they knew. However, since I live in LA I have plenty of occassions to wear my jewelry and seem like a normal person.

I used to go on it in work but since I finished up there two weeks ago I am on it at home now. My boyfriend doesnt mind at all-he looks up lots of forums about guitars and things like that so he just thinks each to their own. I have to say that I do like having my PS fix every day, especially now that Im unemployed

I spend about an hour each day on PS. The weird thing is, I go on in fits and spurts. I''ll go on every day for a week straight, and then I''ll not sign on for another week.

My bf doesn''t really know about PS. He already thinks I''m diamond obsessed. The other night, we were both on our laptops, and he asked me what I was looking at (I was perusing the Show Me the Ring thread), and I said nothing. Well, he insisted on looking, so I showed him and said that I was looking to get ideas for OUR engagement ring. He gave me a look and pinched me.

Oh, and we''re not even engaged yet, and I''m trying to convince him that a 2 carat would be better than a 1.5 carat. So DSS has already set in, even before I have the ring in my hands.
11.gif

And generally, yes, I do need a PS fix everyday, even if I don''t sign in, I''ll do a quick, five minute browse to see what''s new.

Oh, I''m totally addicted. I usually need a pricescope fix once a day if not more (usually more). This last week since we got engaged I haven''t really checked in, but that''s because I''ve been in happy dream-land!
2.gif

My fiance gives me a hard time about being on PS, but I tell him it''s not about the diamonds it''s about friends! I work at home so I like the chance to socialize a bit during the day. If he twits me about still being on after I''ve gotten my rock, I''ll tell him it''s for bridal and wedding planning support. heh heh
9.gif

Not only do I not have DSS, I seem to have the opposite. I had always planned on getting a wedding band with channel set diamonds but now I just want a thin plain platinum band to accent my beautiful ring (well maybe a little engraving). And I can''t imagine ever wanting to upgrade! At .57 carat my diamond looks perfect on my size 7 finger. In fact my first thought when I put it on was ''wow! it''s huge!!!''.
9.gif
And I still marvel at it. (Sorry still in happy happy mode and will probably stay that way)
Fortunately my fi has no idea dss exists, and probably is thinking ''phew, I never have to think about diamonds again!''. Little does he know that I already lust after a little diamond pendant for an anniversary present someday. .. ok PS has had some effect on me!
