How are you wearing your hair?

I am thinking of something very classy retro of course because of my theme... don''t know how the veil is going to hold

My hair is nearly down to my behind so I''m going to get waves put in it. I''ve looked through lots of hair pictures and I''m thinking kind of like the way Jessica Simpson had hers, but maybe a bit wavier

bee,
that''s really pretty, I was told to wear my hair down by the hair dresser since my hair is so long and healthy. She said when you have nice hair you want to show it off!!

Those looks are so pretty!!!

I wore mine sort of up... kind of swept up and pinned, not like a typical "updo". I loved it! But you don''t have to wear your hair up to secure a veil! Not at all!!!

Most veils are on combs and with enough pressure, and maybe a pin or two if you need it, you''ll be able to anchor a veil comb in a long flowy hair do almost as easily as in an updo. If possible, just use a bit of hairspray on the area where you''ll put the comb to make it a little stiffer, and then push in the comb. If you have a metal comb, it will be easy to bend it a little to keep it in. I assure you, I had to have help to take mine out!

So pretty! You guys can definitely wear veils if you want--a friend of mine kept her hair down and had very romantic, beautiful waves in her hair for her beach wedding. She wore a veil and it stayed put despite it being a very windy day on Nantucket. I''d recommend a metal comb. After the ceremony she pinned a beautiful fresh flower in her hair (a white peony, I think?)

Love the pictures, long wavy hair is one of my favorite looks.

I''m now quite sure how I''ll have my hair done but I imagine I''ll probably do half-up, half-down. I normally only wear my hair down (it''s fairly short and simple, above the shoulers), so I''d like to do something a little different. I''m not sure I''d feel like myself if I had it in a full up-do though and I don''t want it to look too formal.

Thanks Mustang! I always thought that I wanted it up, but I was at the hair dressers last week getting it trimmed and we were talking about weddings as she had recently got married so she suggested drying my hair with waves in it to see what it looked like and it looked fantastic! I totally loved it. My hair is so long that I was afraid that the waves would kind of be weighed down and come out easily, but they stayed in all day.

I plan to do half up, half down with loose waves. I don''t feel comfortable in updos and I don''t want hair in my face because it would bother me. Half and half is a good compromise. I might do extensions if I need more volume.

I like the Jess Simpson pic that was posted. I will keep it in mind.

Mustang--I love the picture you posted, that look is so classic.

I''m going to wear my hair half up, but I don''t want it to look like it''s half up, I''d like more of a swept back look. I''ll post the pics I''ve collected thus far.

I like how it looks more swept back in this picture, but I''d like more volume and waves:

I love the way this half-updo looks from the back:

Hi Mustang,

I really like the picture you posted. It reminds me of old hollywood.

It''s funny you ask the question because I was watching a wedding show today and it showed a bride who was mortified with what her hairdresser did to her hair in the trial run. My fiance said he doesnt understand why someone would do something so drastically different than what they normally do for their wedding day and that they (men) generally love how their girlfriends, fiances, etc look on a day to day basis. I guess his point was that he thinks a nicer version of everyday hair is better than some sort of drastic hairdo (or don''t) :)

That being said, I think the picture you posted is classy, simple, and elegant.
