So, I found this Verragio ring advert ripped out of a magazine in the apartment that my girlfriend and I share.

This is the only image I have ever seen of a ring she likes. (She does this all the timewith pictures for her inspiration book, she is an interior designer).

Her image

I went looking at a store with a large Verragio selection and found that in person, this ring was way too busy/chunky for my taste. (Also a bit pricey, but I could have made it work with a lower quality stone)

What I decided was that I liked this better and it seems more her style. I am hoping that the torn out picture was more a suggestion of materials, shape, and style . (Platinum, V shaped, round three stone).

I had a great stone set and left the ring unsized (she is tiny a size 4 ring). If she really wants something else, I can exchange/return the setting and stone. Considering she only dropped the one hint, I don't think that it had to be exctly THAT ring, but I did take it as a jumping off point,

So, what do the experts think about whether or not she will like it?

That is a beautiful style!

I'm no expert, but I've been doing A LOT of looking around for an e-ring. I think both look beautiful and if I had to pick one... I'd pick the 2nd one. To me it looks very elegent.

I agree with Fire, gorgeous ring!! I think she'll be pleased.

I also prefer the second ring. I hope she does too!

I think you did the right thing--with the first, if she wears a wedding band, I'd be concerned about those tiny diamonds and friction.

Good luck! Nice choice!

Like I said in your other thread (hi again!) - I think this ring is stunning. I like it better than the one in the first pic too, it's more classic somehow. Well done!!!

You did really well for yourself. I'm sure she'll like it.

Like the other posters, I like pic 2 better.

I appreciate all the responses. Glad that you all tend to like the second one.

Still, Ladies out there, do you think if she liked the first one in the magazine, that she would like the second one too? Did I keep in the spirit of the original image? I am hoping that the hint was about the designer, and maybe that she liked three stones and platinum.

Also, how will we pair this with a wedding band? I noticed that my sister doesn't wear a band, just her e-ring. Do we need to think about this before deciding that this e-ring is what we want?

Verragio does make paired bands, but they all have diamonds on them. I guess it is up to her, but I don't really like those.

Personally, I like diamonds on my w-band, but then again that's just ME. Because I'm so particular about how I want my e-ring to look, I decided to be as specific as possible and designed it myself. I maybe be the only person out there that doesn't like the "uneven" look about 1 e-ring + 1 w-band. SO... I added a 2nd w-band.

With this combination I can wear them in many different ways.

Not everyone wears a wedding band. There is no rules about that. If you or/and her don't like diamonds on your wedding band, then I would buy the band seperately. Maybe you can look in to buying a match w-band for both of you!!

I think the second one is more classic and elegant...GORGEOUS! but still keeping with the first pic's style. As long as the first pic was a hint at the style and not the EXACT ring she has to has to have, then I think she'll be pleased.

As for the w-band, i say one step at a time:
1) propose, give her the ring, and see if she likes it/falls in love with it then
2) decide on a w-band together that works well with the e-ring

If she doesn't like it or you guys decide to go with another setting, then worry about the w-band after you pick the new e-ring. IOW, settle the e-ring, then worry about the w-band.

good luck! tell us how everything goes!

I second everything gingerBcookie said!

I agree w/Ginger. Settle the e-ring question after you propose, and then you'll have time to pick out the right w-band accordingly.

As for the setting, I think they're both gorgeous, but the second one is more classic. She will absolutely love it!!
