I desperately want to change my hair part, but have been unable to for quite some time. I have a slightly fringed bang, but I would like my bangs to fall more on my forehead instead of off to the side like they do now. Any suggestions on how to retrain your hair?

Maybe my hair is unusual but I just part my hair wherever I feel like it, left, right, or center

Are you saying you have a whorl or cowlick?

Sorry - maybe I didn''t phrase it correctly, but I don''t have a cowlick or whorl - my bangs just always part in the same part and if I try to change the part, the hair just falls back to the old part. I''d like to "re-train" my bangs to fall a different way and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the best way to do that. My hair is fine so that could be part of the problem.

It does sound like you have a cowlick right there if you can''t get your bangs to fall where you want. Have you tried a straightening iron? Just pull it in the opposite direction from where the hair wants to fall and it will straighten it out.

have you redone your part when your hair is wet?

maybe part when wet, then gather back into a ponytail without disturbing the part.

well first i would go to the salon and have them cut properly for them to fall across your forehead. even if you got them to lay right if they are cut for a side part they arent going to look right. then i would wash and condition your hair normally and blow dry then where you want them to go. it may take a few days, but it shouldnt take long to train them.

I just wanted to thank you for your replies. I''m getting my haircut after X-Mas so, I wanted to do something to fix the problem until then. I ended up parting my hair while it was wet and let it air dry a bit. I added a little mouse to my hair and that seemed to help immensely.

My hair parts how it wants to, but usually roughly down the middle. To get it to change I put gel in my hair when its wet and part it how I want to before it dries.

When I want to change mine, I make sure to part it when it''s wet, blow dry it going the direction I want it to go, adn then use a straighten/curling iron if it doesn''t stay. It may resist when dry for a few days, but if you keep it up, it will "learn" it''s place
