How do you get jewelry tested for metal content?

I have a piece that I would like to get definitively tested and get the results in writing.

I already took it to a pawn shop and they were nice enough to test it for me. But apparently their tester only shows if the part it touches is real gold (which it was). However, I want to know if it's solid gold or 14k gold filled. Help, please?
 
Okay, I saw online that a heavy duty magnet will likely pick up other metals but not gold. I went to home depot and tested it with a giant heavy duty magnet (95 pound pull). It picked up the compinent by the clasp but not the rest of the chain or the pendant. So i guess only that small piece is not real gold but the rest is. I guess?
