I''ve come here for a little advice on how the wedding ceremony would work if I got two wedding bands? Do they just get put on at the same time after the vows?

I''ve always wanted an eterneity band as my wedding ring, but my FI doesn''t thinks it "looks like just another blingy piece of jewellery". My solution to this is to have a plain band which matches his wb and also an eternity band - in effect I would have two wedding rings.

So my question are:

1. do you think it will be odd to have two wedding bands?
2. how would it fit into the format of the ceremony?

I don''t think it would be a big deal, he would just have to give you more than one ring during the ring exchange- what could be so wrong about that?

FI is going to be placing my wedding set on my finger, not just the wedding band, so, kind of the same concept.

I have an eternity and a plain band. In the Catholic ceremony the rings are blessed before they are exchanged. It was important to me that both my rings be blessed. DH knew I had two so he made sure to pick them both out of the holy water and slid them both on my hand. The priest tried to correct DH when he picked up two bands but DH just whispered "they''re both hers" It wasn''t a big deal.

I have two wedding bands too! I did get a few looks after the ceremony when people noticed I had two but most people just winked at me and said "smart girl," so no I don''t think it''s odd at all. As for the ceremony when we did our vows and slipped the rings on each other DH just slipped on both at the same time, it wasn''t a problem at all.

I have TWO eternity bands, during our ceremony, when it was time for DH to put the ring on my finger, he just put them both on at the same time, as if it was one ring.

This is what I''m a bit worried about. I''m a bit of a traditional girl and I like the symbolism behind wedding bands - but I also love my bling.
Such a dilemma!

Maybe I should wait until the one year anniversay for the eternity band?

Well, if you like the symbolism behind the wedding band, I would just put the plain one on during the ceremony. How would you feel about wearing the eternity band on your opposite hand? It can still be special to you (another reminder of your wedding day) but not necessarily the ring that represents your marriage to your husband.

Otherwise, I see no problem with having 2 wedding bands on the same hand, and I wouldn''t worry how other people perceive it.
