How "eye clean" does a .33 carat need to be?

Hello all!

Every year I purchase my wife a diamond to add to a diamond tennis bracelet. After 30 years, I will give it to her, fully completed. This is now my 3rd year of purchasing one. I typically stay with diamonds that are eye clean SI1 are better. I've narrowed it down to two diamonds that I'm choosing between. One of them is an SI2, with tons of tiny carbon dots, but I believe would really sparkle. Do y'all think that these many inclusions will be seen with the naked eye being that the diamond is so small? I tried to zoom out as much as I could and I couldn't really see anything, but my eye is very untrained! I'll post the stats and links (if that is allowed) to both diamonds and ANY help (including criticism and/or calling me a dummy) would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. the diamond I purchased last year (the one that will be next to this year's diamond on the bracelet) was 4.43 x 4.46 mm if that influences your advice!

Diamond 1:

0.34 D SI2
4.48 x 4.51mm
Table: 56%
Depth: 61.6%
Crown: 35.0
Pavilion: 40.6

Diamond 2:

0.33 D SI1
4.42 x 4.45 mm
Table: 58%
Depth: 61.5%
Crown: 35.5
Pavilion: 40.6

Here is the .34 SI2

...and here is the .33 SI1

I dont think they will be seen at a .34. I personally think it looks pretty OKay :twirl:. I expected it to look a lot worse.
Since this stone will be together with other stones, you do need to worry about the overall look compared with the
stones next to it. Like will it not be as bright due to the inclusion?

You can always order it and have a look. Set it next to the ones you already have and see if it holds its own. Send it back if
you think the inclusions are having too much of an effect on it.

That other .33 sure looks nice though .

For a $50 difference I'd go with the SI1 ... and since you're planning on buying 30 of them all told, if it were me, I'd just keep my eye on favorite vendors (JA? BN?) and each year buy up the diamond that most closely mirrors the diamonds already on hand ... meaning, for me, I'd match table and depth as well as dimensions and color/clarity ... but that's me.

Thank you for your feedback! I really like the .33 as well! For some reason, it looked a little more grey, to me, and I was scared it wouldn't sparkle as much.

We should see the grading reports from JA - ask and they will send

Thank you all for your advice! And yes, I have the GIA reports! I can send them so you can give me your opinion!

Here they are!

I read that cloud inclusions can sometimes make the diamond appear hazy and affect its sparkle and brilliance. The difference in money is definitely not affecting my decision, I just want the one that's going to sparkle and shine the most on her wrist!

Stay away from the cloud. Ask fot an opinion on the twinning. Its 50 50.

Thank you for the advice! After looking at the GIA reports and the videos of the diamonds, do you think that the .33 SI2 (assuming the twinning is fine) is the way to go? I feel the diamond will be too small to see all the dots and it seems like it will really sparkle (according to specs and also the video)

You are better off finding diamonds with dots. As earrings no one gets that colse.
Paper scissors rock.
Dots beat Dull every time

I would avoid that 0.33 D SI1. I can see quite a bit of internal graining on the magnified image. That's going to make it look hazy when you're in bright lighting. The 0.34 D SI2 has some spots, but they're going to have a lot less of a visible impact than the graining will in the other diamond.

Thank you! That was my thought process as well. The spots are plenty, but seeing as how this diamond is only .34 and going into a tennis bracelet, I figured you wouldn’t be able to see them. The proportions seem very good and the diamond seems like it will sparkle well. I just wanted to get some others opinions before I jumped in and purchased
