I am trying to figure out when I need to go home for my alterations? I was thinking June. Is that cutting it too close to my Aug. 12th wedding? I guess you need a second fitting as well to make sure the alterations were done right. When I bought the dress all I needed was a hem and bustle. I have started a diet though so it may need to be taken in as well. (we can hope anyways

June should be fine. I went for my first fitting about 2 mo out in Feb, and I''m having my second fitting (hopefully it will be a pick up! not a fitting!) about 1 mo out in March.

Yeah.. you should be fine. You should have some sort of second fitting though (with some time to spare). My friend needed her hem redone FOUR times for them to get it right. You''d think it would be simple!

No, that''s not cutting it close at all.

I married on 7/11. Dress arrived in first week in may....1st fitting 5/22, 2nd fitting 6/5, final fitting 6/19. Picked up dress on 6/29...two weeks ahead of wedding.

ok, thanks ladies. I was getting nervous. It is hard because I live in NC and am getting married in WI. I hope I will only need a 1st and final fitting

MelissaSue I would be screwed if they messed up my hem 4 times! I guess I could always check out e-savers.

You should be fine if you go in June. The one issue I had with my dress was that I think I lost weight in the 2 weeks before the wedding, right after I had gone for my final fitting!! The dress fit me like a glove at the fitting, no issues, but I knew I couldn't gain an ounce if I wanted it to look good. I was a nervous wreck, wasn't eating much and was working out like a machine because I wanted to lose my tummy. Unfortunately, I lost weight on my upper half where I didn't have much to start out with anyway! I didn't pick up the dress until 2 days before the wedding and I didn't put it on until the actual time when I was getting dressed for the wedding!!! So the dress fit poorly on top and the inner lining had to be pinned so I felt secure. Nobody really could tell except me, and I can see it in the photos, but I was really struggling with keeping the dress up all night--I even had that double sided Hollywood tape stuff just to be safe! It was probably just because it didn't FEEL tight enough to me and if it dropped a little, nothing would show (except my awesome VS bra and chicken cutlet inserts that were coming out of the top of the bra!), but it was annoying! So just make sure you're confident that you won't lose a ton of weight before the wedding and maybe try the dress on one more time before the actual day to make sure you won't have any issues!

CurlyGirl--losing it on top, OMG, that''s exactly what''s gonna happen to me. LOL!!! And I have nothing to start with but it''s always the first place I lose! UGH!!!
