So if we were to get engaged sometime this May (*fingers crossed*), would it be crazy to think about having the wedding next April/May-ish? We already know where we want to have it, so that part wouldn''t require any research... but other than that I haven''t done any official planning or booking of dates or anything. I love the spring, but if that would be pushing it, my other option is September 29th, 2007 (grandma''s bday)... so right now I''m kind of leaning that way since I''m not sure how much time I''ll need to plan, and no ring on the finger yet. Just curious what other people think who are doing their planning right now?

If you have some idea where you want to get married (ie the state), a year is plenty of time. I was shooting for a year to plan, but had to push it to 15 months because I didn''t want to get married at Christmas/New Years.

A year is plenty of time to plan a wedding. The only thing you may run into is venues/vendors being booked. Just make those big things(church, reception site, photographer, etc) your first priority when you do start planning!

I was able to plan our wedding in 7 months and had no problems.

It''s definately do-able

... we got engaged in December... and decided in late Jan. to get married this June... so I will have had about 4 months. A year is plenty o'' time... like they said, just make your vendors your top priority... There''s a good chance that the Saturdays might be booked, but there''s always the rest of the week!
