Okay, so far we will have about 70 guests at our wedding

Our colors are mainly "citrusy" green and ivory. Flowers for my bouquet and centerpieces are green cymbidium orchids.

And for our favors I''m filling small candy jars with some really yummy Key Lime White Chocolate Chip cookies and they are super delicious - not to mention the flavors match our color scheme!! And they are made in the same state as where we are having the wedding. And, I''m tying ribbons of green and ivory around the tops of the candy jars.

Anywho... So far I''ve been able to find and purchase 56 candy jars (I went to about 7 Hobby Lobby stores a few weekends ago when they were on sale for $1 and bought them out completely).

How many favors do I need? Almost all of our guests are couples and I think most people will probably take one favor per couple, rather than 1 per person. Do you think this is a valid assumption or should I try to hunt down some more jars???

I don''t want to not have enough, but given that I''ve got to transport them 5 hours... and keep them cool so the chips don''t melt... Then I don''t want to buy more than I will need.

well given the fact that I work at a trader joes markets and im that happy person who hands out a free sample of our delicious food. I now see how greedy people can be. not saying that your guests are that way but everyone always wants something for themselves. My fiancee and I are doing something similar for our favors, were getting personalized M&M''S (with our colors)and putting them in little velvet baggies with our names and date of the wedding embroirderd on them
Because of my experiance im getting enough for all my guests but if you trust all of your guests to only take one per couple then do it that way it saves more time and money!

i think one per household would work. some people will just eat the cookies and leave the jars behind in the hotel room anyway.

That was my thought too - since all of our guests are traveling from out of town, I don't see them bothering to take home the jars.

Hmmmm, I figure there will always be a few gets that are kinda 'greedy' although that is not really the word I'm looking for... but I think generally most will take one per couple/household. Which would be about 35 favors. And so then I'll have an additional 21 favors for those who decide to take 1 per person, rather than 1 per couple.

At most weddings I've been to, at the end of the night there always seem to be favors leftover from the people that didn't take one - I guess at the end of the night, after eating, drinking, dancing, and eating cake, the favor is not always a big priority. Hopefully.

I think I will leave it 'as-is' for now - if I end up having enough time to go find some more jars, then I will, if not, so be it. I've got plenty of other things to stress about with only 8 days to go!!

ETA: I can't add small numbers - we've got 10 days to go, not 8... sheesh...

We had well over 200 people at our wedding and I made 150 CDs. Let's just say I had a lot of CDs left. Not everyone took one. I had made enough for everyone (minus kids, etc) but there were lots left over. You can do one favor per household if you wish, or one per person, it's up to you!

PS - I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooove key lime white chocolate cookies...my FAVORITE. Chocolate and lemon or lime are my favorite desserts!

You could put them at place settings, in between the couples seats, maybe even with name labels, if you really want it to be one per couple (I''ve gotten favors that way).

Or, if you''d rather not put them on the tables and you''re worried about not having enough, you could bring some extra cookies just in bags, maybe white lunch bags with a ribbon at the top, so if you run out, you still have something for people to take.

Generally, I would expect couples to just take one favor, especially with something like a cd, but with cookies that look really yummy, I wouldnt be suprised if people each took a favor.

Good idea to just bring extra cookies in bags as a back up. I had thought of setting them at the tables - but since we decided against assigned seating, then that wouldn''t work. I think I''ll just put our extras in little bags with some ribbon for "just in case" - plus I think we will end up with a ton of extra cookies (I had no idea how much to order so I erred on the side of having too many) so that will be perfect.

FG - Oh I''m a total nut for citrus flavors in deserts too. I hadn''t tasted these cookies I ordered and am soooooooooo pleased at how great they taste!! They are from Brent & Sam''s gourmet cookies in Arkansas. YUM. I also ordered Raspberry Chocolate Chip cookies (since our accent colors are dark pink & chocolate brown) but sadly, they just are not even half as tasty as the Key Lime White Chocolate cookies... It''s tough to stay out of them while I''m making the favors!!

THOSE are the key lime white chocolate cookies I have had. Sometimes a few stores around me intermittently carry them - I''ve even found them at Ross of all places on occasion. When they''re there I snap them up cuz they are da bomb!! And yes, the raspberry ones cannot compare.

How funny - small world. I had never heard of Brent & Sam''s but was searching the internet for some kind of yummy treat for our favors that were from an Arkansas company - since that was where our wedding will be - and ran across them that way. And then when I saw the key lime cookies, that was it - exactly what I was looking for. And bonus, they''re terrific cookies.

Well, just FYI, they can be ordered off the internet... just in case you need a fix and can''t find them anywhere.

I kinda wish I didn''t know that now... because I can see me ordering them in bulk from now on!!
