How many of you have the ring, but don''t have it?

Just by observation, it sure seems like several of you girls have your ring. *Well, your guys have your ring, I mean.* It''s one thing for them to have it and you not know it. But for it to be in your house? Downstairs? Possibly somewhere you walk by every single day? And you don''t tear up the house to find it? How in the world can you stand it?

There is *no* way my guy would trust to even leave me in the same neighborhood as where my ring was. I''m relatively sure he doesn''t have it yet, but once he does, he''ll have to *NEVER* let me know he has it. I''m such a good sneak-and-peeker. I don''t think he knows this, but I sneaked and found part of my birthday present... but once I saw a bit of it, almost enough to tell me what it was, I didn''t look any further, so there would still be an *element* of a surprise. But my ring? Gosh, I don''t know that I''d have the ability not only look at it, but to slip it on and wiggle my fingers for a bit, too.

Who are you strong women who know they have it, or even *where* they have it? Have you peeked? Are you going to? And how flippin'' long are they gonna make you wait? Any clues?

It is downstairs somewhere... and I swear I haven''t looked for it once... in 3 WEEKS!! I deserve some sort of medal!!! It is really hard because during the whole process he said he wouldn''t keep the ring long before he proposes and now he has kept it way too long in my opinion. I guess he is waiting for the perfect time but I just want it now. Plus, all this waiting has built up the proposal so much I a worried I will be disappointed when the time actually comes. It seems like it would be better at this point to do something small and sweet and thought out sooner rather than something elaborate and drawn out in a few more weeks. I just don''t understand boys... at ALL!

Aww, Indecisive! Maybe the boy will do it SOON. I''m not even lying when I say, if I had access to downstairs and that was where my ring was, if given 20 minutes of pure focus, I''d have that bad boy out for inspection, try on, and possibly a quick run to the store. Or at least to a friend''s house.

Has he given even a smidgen of a clue?

How bout this for *GRRR*?? I''m going to a wedding today for a co-worker, and she''s NEVER seen her ring. He said he wanted it to be a surprise. They were engaged in October, and she''s never seen it. He didn''t have it when he asked, so they went shopping. He got ideas, she narrowed it down to three. He wont'' even tell her for sure it''s one of the three. All he''ll say is it is white gold and it has a diamond or two.

Then he got upset when she got his ring and wouldn''t show him! BOYS!

My boyfriend has had the ring for 12 weeks (and one day, not that I''m counting). I had figured he''d propose VERY soon after we got the ring because I had already been so disappointed with all the delays (car accidents, Tacori making the ring wrong twice) but apparently he had other ideas.

And it''s not hidden. It''s out in plain sight. Somehow I think I prefer that to having it hidden. I picked out the stone and the setting, I had to approve the setting after we had it made but I haven''t seen it with my stone set in it. So the ring really wont be much of a surprise. I want the first time i see the finished ring and have it on my finger to be when he proposes, I just think it will mean more to me that way, so I''m being a good girl and haven''t peeked in 12 weeks.

I know it will be on or before our anniversary, since that''s the deadline he set for himself. I have a feeling it will be the night before. So, 2 and a half weeks to go.

We''re not planning on getting married until next spring (or possibly next winter) so I don''t really feel in a rush.

I can''t remember who but someone who lived with her BF and its sitting on top of the tv. out in plain site. She posted a week or two ago about how frustrated she was and even posted a pic of it sitting there. Now hows that for in your face but you can''t have it! Many of us thought it was just cruel!

I have the ring...and I''ve had it in the apartment now for over 2 months! Arg! We ordered the diamond here so that I could see it and pick out the setting even though he''s out of state right now. It''s just waiting here for him to first move in and then hopefully put it on my finger. I''m a bad girl and wear it around the house sometimes when he''s not here. Can you blame me? Wish me luck that I don''t have to have it sitting around for too much longer.

Yep. Just sitting there, right next to the TV. 10 feet away from me as we speak. When we picked it up he asked he if I wanted him to hide it, but that really felt silly to me. Plus I think I would drive myself crazy wondering where it was, at least this way there''s a quiet certainty that it''s right there.

My icon is my diamond. We bought it last May, and then my boyfriends car needed 2 grand in repairs so we couldn''t buy the setting

He decided to let me put it in a temp setting to wear as an anniversary present. A lot of people thought I was crazy and that he should have proposed with the temp ring, but we both wanted to wait for the ring to be perfect since I don''t plan to ever upgrade or wear any other ring as an "engagement ring". So, I''ve been waiting for the perfect ring

And even now with all my frustration that it has taken so long I dont regret that choice. It will be SO worth it in the end.

It is so great!! He double tricked me though because he pretended like he hid it downstairs but it was really upstairs!! And here I thought I was so smart... just goes to show that even if you think you know what is going on sometimes you are just way off!! So we never know what is going on with Paul either

Mine is in the house, it has been here for 2 weeks, and I am 99% sure it''s in his closet.

I snooped for it twice, the first time I snooped because i thought I knew it was in the bathroom and I only look there, I told him I snooped because he asked me and I can''t lie. The second time I snooped I really tried not to because he asked me not to and said he''d be really upset if I found it, but he was gone golfing all day thursday and I couldn''t help myself, I looked ALL over, he asked me again I admitted I snooped but I didn''t find it, he thinks I foundit though because it got moved a little probably when I was looking in his closet.

I haven''t seen it finished I saw it at the store the day before it was finished and got to try it on but the platinum wasn''t polished yet so it looked like pewter. I hope it''s soon I''m starting to be a brat everyday it doesn''t happen but I know he is just trying to plan something. He said I could have it now or wait for him to plan something so I am waiting.

I wish I didn''t know he had it, is it really making me act different, i have never been all in a hurry but now I am freaking out, and like I said I get bratty when I realize today is not the day, and everyone asks me everytime I see them if I got it yet and I have to be like no and I feel stupid and mad, and I am feeling pouty right now! He is still sleeping so maybe today is the day???

DAH, I feel the same way. I keep waking up and thinking that it could be the day, seeing "clues" in every little thing, and then getting disappointed. And that''s knowing it isn''t actually set yet!!! Irrational, I know. It''s like I think he''s going to go out for milk and come back with a whole ring and propose. I''m a lunatic, and I can''t imagine how I would be if I knew there was a whole ring, ready to go, in this house.
