“I’m done with buying jewelry”
“My collection is complete”
“I have more than I need and need to appreciate what I have”
“This is my last project/purchase bc I have all I want”

Hahahahahah
You get my point

And if you actually admit to saying any of the above comments, how soon after did you purchase a new piece? What reason compelled you to do so?

Same.

I have had more buyer's remorse over the inexpensive things we've bought than the expensive things. Of course we do not chase things we can not afford either way.

We don't have that many things, numerically.

As you suggest, there is a bit of a "refractory period" after a more substantial purchase. But it's really not to re-load. I am in it for the beauty and not to complete a set or amass jewels. What's too much art or music to have? :cool2:

It’s possible I’ve said this before but memory fails me. I do regularly lament about how much I have, that it’s too much, and consider selling most of it. Probably super annoying to a lot of people and definitely a first world problem, but there you have it.

I have completely stopped looking for diamond rings since getting my three stone. Now it’s mostly bands that I look at, which of course only adds to the collection that is “too much.” Vicious cycle.

I never say this.
There are so many beautiful things in this world.
And sometimes, when I'm not looking, amazing things just fall in my lap.
So I'm not done collecting.

I can't remember. I think I may have said or thought it one time. After that I was just like welp that ended up not being true. I always thought my engagement and wedding rings would be the last of what I needed. Oh how wrong I was lol. I'm a band collector for sure. So even after/IF I ever get the things on my need list. I'll probably still be collecting bands xD

I have said those things more than once, probably more than 5 times LOL -- sometimes I bought something else within a week, sometimes it took months, once almost a year -- I'm okay with it -- most of the time these days I do feel like I have enough, and that I'm done collecting, or focused only on setting what I already own -- but I have had a lifelong enduring interest in rocks and stones and gems and jewelry, and I'm 100% okay with taking awhile to fully wind down my active collecting.

:wavey:

The ticket price of the items on my bling wish list gets bigger and bigger every year!

I would probably move into branded jewellery eventually!

DK :lol-2:

Add me to the "never" list. I am a minimalist but that doesn't mean that I might want to buy something new and get
rid of something old. I don't think I'll ever be done until I possibly get bored with jewelry or find another hobby that I enjoy more.

I have said the third one as it is 100% true. Still trying to appreciate what I have and not want more. I haven’t said the other things bc I would be lying to myself!!!

I don't know how MANY times I've said... but I know the LAST time I said it... About three hours ago on the phone to TR as I was on my way over to drop off a holiday gift for Ilya and his sparkly little elves.

Does anyone want to see my new (to me) estate diamond bracelet?

Yes please!! Show us the new sparkly!

Do you even need to ask? :D

Uhm, maybe someone whose initials rhyme with "SparklieBug" has said all those things... :???: And maybe said person really meant it at the time. And maybe if said person would avoid PS and IG like the plague, she could actually adhere to any of the truths, above.

I truly don't need/want for anything more...except maybe a pair of small diamond studs. Or a smaller solitaire for low-key days. Or...:eek2: Oh, no...

It's actually fabulous in person -- this pic doesn't do it any justice!

I love that design, and one of my early tennis bracelets purchased from eBay was in that design, however, I sold it as the quality of the stones were not very good (it was pre-PS).

And the bracelet kept catching my clothes.

Never say never!

I never say it but to be honest I have really slowed down since buying my Canturi pieces - I definitely found a set I love and wear almost daily. It's meant I wear less of my other stuff which I feel a bit guilty about hence not buying any more.

Since joining an international charitable organisation in late 2021, I now have more opportunities to attend black tie formal events and can do with some new evening wear.

The style of tops I like has V or sweet heart neckline, so naturally I need more necklaces and pendants and double clip brooches!

I love it!! You get the sparkle from the diamonds and the metal as well. It also sits very nice on the wrist. I really like it! What is the carat weight?

DK, that's a bummer about your prongs catching! Yesterday I was wearing a fuzzy cashmere cardigan that I took off and on about a dozen times during the afternoon (Hello! Can someone please call building services and see about regulating the temperature in Dee's office?!?). It didn't catch one single time and I wasn't being careful at all so hopefully I won't have an issue.

MGR, it's only about 1.5 cts. I tried on 2 and 3 ct round prong set bracelets too, but they just didn't do it for me like this one. The "frames" are prominent in this pic, but not at all in real life. Plus is had a little more structure (for lack of a better word) due to the design, which like a lot.

Sorry for the threadjack! I'll be heading back to Ban Island now, where I belong!

Yeah I have said it and meant it...I might have bought smaller purchases after saying it but I have not purchased any major bling since my earnest declaration about being bling satiated. Cause I am and it feels so good :)

OK, I admit to saying "never" to branded jewellery, however, I am warming to the idea of getting them now that I have ticked off a few items on my bling wish lists through the years.

I blame the PS community for dragging me down this rabbit hole!

The collections I have always liked are Chopard's Happy Diamonds and Happy Hearts.

I loooove Cartier jewelry but have a hard time paying the premium for it. I recently found a modest Cartier bracelet on 1stDibs which was actually being sold by Circa so it made me feel better about its authenticity. 1stDibs was giving an Anniversary discount and I also had a credit offer on my Amex so I gave myself permission to buy it.

I’ve said it several times most recently when I bought a vacation house. I don’t consider myself a collector so if I get to a saturation point, I would clear out unworn pieces to make room for new ones.

HI:

All fun here. I always say I am done until I find a preloved, Leon Mege , Pad or Ruby. I'll make you an offer you can't refuse!

cheers--Sharon
