That''s about what I pay through our cable company (plus basic cable charges!!! - comes jsut over $100/mo. total)

seems like this might be a question best asked in 'Home and Health'?

otherwise why do we have all those other forums to begin with...if all the random Q's get thrown into DH?

then again i don't think anyone (myself included) understands the breakout of those forums VS these...what is the real difference. maybe leonid can explain.

Same here. With digital cable channels and premium channel services, plus internet the bill is around $130 per month. I think the cable modem (intenet) alone is between $40-45.

Comcast practically owns us...about $136 a month...for cable w/ on demand and HBO and hi-speed internet...land line phone bill is only $24 a month tops though as we have all three through Comcast.

$45 plus tax

That''s what we pay for cable through local Cable co. but it''s on top of the TV cable.

We''re paying about $35/mo. for DSL through Verizon.

$34 per month for both DSL and Dial-Up (when I travel) through my local phone company.

Phone service is $30 per month, and I do all of my long distance (In and out of state) at either 2 or 4 Cents per minute through another phone service that is part of a "phone office suite" for my side business (the change in rates depends on where I call from. If I can dial a local access number - then my Long distance rate is 2 cents per minute; if I have to call in on my 800 number then the long distance is 4 cents per minute).

This is what we''re paying.

$43 through Comcast also.

USA was the world leader in Broad band uptake a few years ago, but now USA lags even some 3rd world countries.
I find it interesting how sometimes competive markets are most efficient, and other times they lag sadly compared to institutionalized France for eg.

$27.99, Yahoo DSL.

It''s pretty fast compared to my local cable company.

$45 from TimeWarner...but SBC DSL is going to be available here soon, and they are offering a special for $19.99 for the first few months! How does cable compare with DSL?

I think around $30-$35 per month for 3meg DSL through SBC. I have a package deal with SBC which inlcudes two phone lines, unlimited local and long distance calling, and 3 meg DSL for around $100 per month.

I have Insight Broadband, it''s about 45/month. I used to think it was too much, but I have mega fast internet connection and speed, so I don''t complain

Got two: same service costs $50 in Bucharest and $10 in Berlin

...if I didnt have to watch shows on discovery or TLC I would drop it. However it was cheaper for me the bellsouth DSL. I have a cell phoen beucase the people I call are scattered across the country and long distance is too much. But to get dsl you have to have a phone line...and all total it was 13 something more a month. So I am with cable for now. Though perhaps I will look into the wireless thing when I move next may. It would be nice....

We pay about $45ish with Time Warner. We had DSL before cable. It was about hte same price but much less reliable. Overall the performance was worse, and it would hang all the time, causing us to have to reset everything. Cable has been much more stable.

Steve -- who is providing your wireless, and do you have to have a big antenna on the house?

around $40 with Starpower/RCN cable, but we also add their cable for TV, so we pay them quite a bit, getting HBO, too.

Ok Folks, here''s a helpful hint to lower those monthly bills....

Call your service provider and cancel your service! Well not actually cancel, just call and tell them you''d like to cancel and state that you are switching to another provider. DSL is a popular one to threaten, basically just use one that you know is in your general location. 9 times out of 10 they will offer to lower your monthly payment for anywhere between 6 to 12 months or even indefinitely. If they don''t offer you this, and ask for your shutoff date, just say you need to check on that. Call them back, get another representative, and try again. It works for a lot of folks, unless you''ve only been customer for a short time it will usually work. I lowered my payments from $98/month to $74/month for the same service. I''d advise you all to give it a try, there really is no downside to trying.

We just bought a house in the boonies so we had to get sattelite internet. It''s $99.99 a month for 15 months until we pay off the equiptment, then it''s $59.99.
