I am getting Natural Sapphire Company to create a setting based on this Tiffany one. I was told that the cost to create this would be $3500? Does that price seem right? I was told that the milgrain work raises the cost significantly. Also, does anyone have any opinion of the quality of NSC custom settings? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks. See link to Tiffany below.

That doesn''t include the center stone?

I don''t know anything about pricing millegrain, but this similar non-millegrained setting from Whiteflash is $1995 in platinum (you didn''t specify wg or plat, but even the more expensive plat is less expensive than your quote from NSC).

My fully millegrained eternity band (sapphire/diamond) from fay cullen was under $700.

Hope that helps...

That setting does not include the stone. The metal is platinum.

That sounds pretty expensive to me.

I''m currently waiting for a quote from Wink for a platinum split shank with oval diamond halo - the same as one of the NSC''s and very similar to that one.

I would try him and Whiteflash for a quote before you settle with NSC for the setting.

Honestly, if you are having the step cuts in the shank like that, and if it''s in platinum... that sounds pretty accurate. You''d probably get a similar qoute from Whiteflash, or Ocean (through Wink), and Leon would cost more.

Thanks. I just got quote from Whiteflash and they would be slightly cheaper; however, their diamonds would be micro-pave vs pave in the setting I requested. I am comfortable now that I am getting a fair quote.

I will post pictures in a couple weeks once the finished product arrives.

I would ask how the ring is being made. Pave'' prices can range vastly depending on quality. If it is hand fabricated and the metal work underneath each diamond is hand polished, the pave'' will look A LOT brighter- but much more costly. Machined pave'' costs less, but doesn''t have as bright of an effect. Its hard to tell from pics. The live comparison is pretty visual though.

Are you talking about the metal work that is inside the shank? Also, should their be "holes" undeneath the diamonds to allow for more light? Pardon my ignorance.
