How much should I pay for 3ct u-v diamond

How much is the seller asking?

I paid $30k for my 5.11ct U-V VVS diamond. Have you seen the stone in person? Do you love it? 14k sounds reasonable to me.

Yes I did. Looking like light yellow with maybe little green. It's nice. I'm looking for something around 20k$(whole ring) just to put some money in and don't lose much when I resell. Do you think u-v is a good choice?

Diamonds are hardly ever a good investment. If you are looking to invest money I would suggest something else.

You like the green hue? If you like it that's fine. Just bear in mind that reselling might not be easy, as I *think* (I don't know for sure) that not too many people would like a green hue in a yellow diamond. YMMV.

Have you reached out to Alex Park? He has an Insta account. His settings are super reasonable. He often has lots of nice stones at reasonable pricing. I got mine from him. I love mine. It has a golden cup under it to enhance the yellow-ness. It's an extremely well cut diamond, sparkles like crazy.

Agreed. Buy it if you love it for yourself. Diamonds are not a recommended investment.

That cushion is not well-cut to my eyes, the girdle is thick probably to make it over the coveted 3 carat mark, so you are paying for weight your eyes will not see. That said, if you love the diamond for its unique color and like the overall look, $14K is arguably market-priced for what it is.

If you are buying to resell, you will lose money, probably at least 30% perhaps more depending on how long you are willing to wait.

AS others have already mentioned- please don't be convinced that diamonds are a financial investment.

I'm also wary of trade members suggesting that you will find a better stone ( and naming a price).....telling you to try for EX symmetry ( which is truly irrelevant as compared to VG or G in a stone like this)

With fancies, your eye is king. While I am sure it is around market rate, give or take, the beauty of that diamond is particularly important on your beloved's finger.

I am not a fan of the "spare tire" this little diamond is sporting. Since you asked for opinions...personally, I would pass. You should be able to find all sorts of low alphabet/fancy yellows out there. What matters is that you and your other person love it.
