How much were your engagement pictures?

I am using a friend of mine to take our pictures and we haven't discussed pricing yet. How much did you pay for your professional photographer?

I am using him because I really love his photography, and I'm also looking to save money. I don't want to offer too little OR too much.

Our engagement pictures came as part of our package with our photographer, but ala carte, including the DVD of edited full-resolution images and printing release, she charges $300.

Ours cost $150.00 with Edited CD, two locations in New Jersey. She was cheap, but the photos were amazing!

$400. I think they could have been included in our package, but we made some changes to it and it was a last minute decision on my part to have them. That is in NYC.

We live in Texas and our engagement photos were supposed to be part of our wedding photography package.

Then our photographer got deployed (we didn't know she was in the reserves!) and we ended up paying $350 for the engagement photos alone but we had two separate 1.5 hour sessions (one with kids and one without).

It sounds like you will have some great photos, especially if you already know you like your photographers work!

Our friend is a professional photographer in NYC and is our photog for the day of so our e-pics cost us a round of beers.

I am in northern NJ. It is included in our package, but if it wasn't they chrge 250-300 depending on how far away we wanted to go.

Boyfriend is a photographer and usually charges $150 for an hour, if they just want the pictures on a CD. If they want prints it includes the cost of the prints and like 10% more (cost of prints).

An hour of pictures ~ about 150 plus pictures BUT then he has hours of photoshop to adjust small things: a stray hair, ugly seaweed, etc etc.

I had to ask him this information because I had no idea honestly, and then he asked the other photographers that he works with and it's pretty much around that price for all of them.

ETA, last Saturday BF did a session for one of my sister's and her Fi. He did three hours for free (and two locations) plus all the photoshop and some prints. It's their wedding present. It would cost them (around here) about $500 plus his travel expenses. Anthony was up at 4am, and didn't come home until like 4pm.
