To get my hair done on my wedding day? My stylist is the woman who has cut my hair forever. The only time she has available would be 7AM. My wedding isn't until 3PM. My mom thinks that it will look greasy.

I'm not getting curls, just something sleek. Should I see if I could get a later appointment? I need opinions! HELP!

ETA: I should add that we need to be ready by noon to have pictures taken at my house and my sister is doing my makeup at my house, so I don't have another appointment to get to.

My stylist is starting the four of us (hair and make-up) at around 9ish for a 2pm wedding (ready for the cameras at 1pm). The same went for my bfs wedding. 7am does sound a little early, though I am not sure?

Can you do a trial and check the timing for how long the style lasts?

I am doing a trial in June a few weeks beforehand. My hair usually holds up pretty well as long as it''s not curled (which it won''t be).

Well, considering that most stylists ask that you not wash your hair before they style it for a wedding, I wouldn''t worry too much about grease. They also like to spray the crap out event hairstyles, which gives everyone kind of a greasy look regardless of whether or not their hair is actually clean. The only concern that I have for you is: do you really want to be up that early on your wedding day?

Winslet, good call about not washing hair...I was mine every other day regularly so you''re right, I probably won''t be greasy anyways...

I am calling my stylist tomorrow to discuss, I am not 100% sure I want to be up that early but I could probably put money on the fact that I will be hyper and not be able to sleep anyways! I figure I will be done by 8:30 and then I can hang out and maybe take a nap sitting up (it can be done) or drink Starbucks until my heart''s content.

What time did you ladies get yours done at?

7 should be fine. You probably wont leave the salon until after 8...pictures are at 12....that's a very normal time line for most brides.

ETA: If you're not going to wash your hair, thats totally fine, but avoid using any styling products after you wash it for the last time. Also, what is your hair texture/type? Is the stylist going to be straightening? If so, she may have to wash it, FYI.

Italia! Thanks so much for responding! My hair is stick straight, it has absolutely no wave, or curl to it at all so I don''t think she would have to wash it again.

Wash it the morning before your wedding. You don''t want your hair super clean...but you don''t want it dirty-dirty either. 24 hours before the event and you''ll be fine. DO NOT use any styling products or styling tools aside from a brush and blow dryer.

On a side note, I prefer clean hair for an updo. So, the dirty hair rule isn''t across the board. It just depends on who is doing your hair.

Thanks again. I will double check with her when I go in for my trial as to whether she likes clean or dirty hair.
