Hi all! I know this is not a particularly original topic and I have certainly read about many others having this issue, but I had some specific questions for the forum. First question, what type of band is this?

Is this considered a shared prong? The jeweler just calls it a "micro prong" and I've noticed that jewelers don't consistently use the same terminology.

I like this ring in person and thing it's a great match to my ering. But my second question is, is this the type of eternity band you'd worry would damage the basket of the ering?

Here is my ering for reference:

And last but not least, my ering is E color and the band comes in G. Would that look okay together, or should I ask for the band to be in E? I understand that smaller stones look whiter, and I've heard that within two colors (like E and G) is ok together but I'm not sure. The above pic is just a setting with CZs, btw.

Thank you fellow diamond obsessives!

I’m no expert but imho your solitaire would look devine with that size and diamond color in eternity band.

Hi @Klaus ,

Yes, this is a shared prong eternity band. I guess more specifically it uses "micro prongs" which I'm assuming means smaller
than usual prongs. This picture is a CAD and not a "real" photograph of a setting so it's hard to tell how the prongs really turn
out. And yes, jewelers use different terminology.

Yes, you will have to worry about this time of ring eating into the basket of your ering. A side view going up between your two
rings might show how your ering is holding the eternity ring off but it definitely looks like the edges of the diamonds may be
able to get to your basket.

I personally think an E ering and a G band go together but YMMV depending on your sensitivity to color or how strict you feel about
mixing colors. You will get different opinions on this subject.

I think the band looks really nice with your ering but you may need (probably need) a separator band.

BTW...You should ask admin to rename this thread. Its not really about "How to select an eternity band" which sounds more like
a tutorial.

If you want a band that doesn't eat into your ering you need something with rails on the side...bead set eternity bands work but
you don't usually find those with bigger stones in them.

I always use @cflutist ring as an example of an eternity that works well with an ering. So pretty too but the stones are smaller
than what you're looking at so probably wont work for you. Her ring was custom-made to prevent the problem with eating
into her ering.

Thanks so much, this is really helpful! It’s weird, I never loved the idea of a spacer… too many rings or something? … but lately I’ve seen some nice-looking examples.
