How to set a couple 2ct Emeralds?

Greetings! I've been gifted a couple emeralds from an unworn piece of jewelry my mom took apart (idk how to link but I had pics/thread on that necklace a while back) and I need inspiration on how to set them.

Daily I wear my wedding ring, diamond earrings, and a diamond pendant. I wear a yellow gold band on my right hand that could probably go well with another ring.

Any recommendations? I'm open to literally anything! My style is casual/sporty since I'm often at school/sports stuff for my kids but hubs and I do treat ourselves to much deserved nights out and when I travel for work I can pull off finer jewelry (case in point, recently reconnected with a west coast coworker at a meeting and that night in the bar I was finally able to fangirl over her new huge black (peacock?) Mikimoto pearl choker I saw for the first time that day...yum!). So even if it isn't a daily piece, that's ok since then it would be a 'woo hoo, we're adulting!' piece :-)

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Earrings? They look like fab ones with some diamond accents...

Thank you! Since I unexpectedly have two (thought I'd just get one), yes - earrings were my first thought...can't do studs tho (sensitive ears, my diamonds are on lever backs). But the only thing is then *I* don't get to look at them lol so i may be leaning more toward a ring or bracelet (unless i see some really badass kind of dangling/hoop-y/unique stunners!)

Emeralds are soft so I prefer earrings and/or pendant so I can wear and not worry about babying/scratching them. If you are more casual, maybe lessen the number of diamonds and wear as removable earrings with huggies. You can even custom a hook to wear as twin pendant drops too. (I love convertible jewelry)

Are you ok to baby them in a ring or bracelet?

Well I love bezeled styles, so if i did a ring or bracelet and buried them in enough gold hopefully I'd not have to baby them too much?
And I found pics of my mom's ring, my brother's ring, and my sister's ring all from the same original piece!Screenshot_20180713-133545_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20180713-133739_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20181028-232043_Gallery.jpg

so cool that you all have jewelry made from the same original piece!

With bezel set emeralds instead?

That open cuff bracelet is awesome, I second the vote for something like that, especially with the bezel. Yummy! And you would be able to see it unlike earrings and necklaces!

Wow! Those rings are stunning  And i have twins so maybe that's why she gave me two stones? Ha! I didn't even think of that. Duh! That'd be a BIG ring tho - I tried to measure them today and they're around 9x7 each...but one is significantly deeper.

But that cuff bracelet has got my attention...like I could wear that daily! Reminds me my mom's bestie has this monster bracelet that every kid teethed on...it was thick gold cable but with cabachon rubies at the ends. Hmmm....

Toi et moi ring is my first thought, open cuff bangle being the second for a more casual look.

How about a ring version of the open cuff bangle, with a paved diamond band, setting the Emeralds North-South?

DK :))

Love the idea of the cuff bracelet

The cuff bracelet has my vote! You can bezel them for protection and the slight difference in height won't be noticeable. Yum!

So now that I'm at a computer, I'm going to look for some pics/examples of cuffs (havent clicked your earrings link yet chanterelleJ!) but I've only ever had stones set for rings, pendants, etc so just not sure about something like this.

Will this have to be from scratch or are there bracelet "settings", if you will, where you just customize where you mount the stones?

I found these so far

Random thought:

I'd do & wear two stacked!

Loooove that second one! Reminds me of that beautiful moi et toi ring that was also posted higher up. I generally don't like moi et toi rings but that one is lovely.

But that cuffed bracelet...

A number of people have had bracelets like that recently, I'm thinking they all used David Klass? Emeralds are quite soft so it would have to be someone very skilled to set them... I would trust him.

I don't know but I think they are WONDERFUL looking! I love the look of those emeralds
For myself I'd do a pendant and a ring.

YES, YES, YES to the second one, just fabulous

I vote for the 2nd style! :love::love::love:

I like that 2nd one very much as well...but I'm definitely wanting yellow gold and it will have to be thicker to make me comfortable with its safety so not sure if it would still hit the same notes.

I'm not finding much on my google searches :(

Earrings in a high carat yellow gold bezel. The stones are beautiful.

Since you said you probably got 2 emeralds because of your twins, is it your Mother's intention that you pass down 1 to each?

I recently had an open cuff made. Love it. And it wasn’t hard to fabricate. My jeweler ordered 2mm wire, 2 bezels, and soldered lol.

It looks thin but no safety confers on my end because it fits well and it’s 14k so has some stiffness. Also was not annealed.

Apologies that I didn't reply, I hadnt seen the last few responses till just now! (Life gets in the way :-))

I adore those rings but feel they would dwarf my wedding ring, so probably going with the cuff. I love yours MTG, feel like that's what I'm going for...but i took them to a local jeweler and they quoted me $2500 for 6mmx1.5mm flat bracelet and two bezels in 18kt. I'm not sure about 6mm wide...but since the stones are 6.5mm wide, that's what they suggested.

Any thoughts? Pricing or design wise...I'm outside of DC if anyone can recommend a jeweler for a 2nd opinion!

I would not dare a bangle & yes, wedding bands dissapear under great rings... Would there be objections? (it is a matter of culture - in mine, rather anything goes except judgement!)

Gorgeous emeralds. And sentimental too. Love that your mom gave them to you.

Have you considered emerald drop earrings? Those would be TDF gorgeous IMO.

I honestly wear my bangle everywhere and have no safety concerns. The stones seem safer to me set like this than my rings since they sit lower, and stay on the front of my wrist which rarely hits or contacts things, especially compared to my hand and fingers.

The sides do sometimes come up against things but it’s just the metal.

And that price seems crazy high to me!
My bangle was just under 600$ which included labor.

Lots more pics of the “fit” here

Ah I just realized yours was quoted 6mm. Mine is 2mm round wire basically. The diamonds are around 5.5 mm.

I could see it being a lot more expensive for three times the gold weight. I rather like the look of a thinner bangle with bigger bezels on the ends.
