I''m not sure if I want mine all up or part way up and part way down. All up could look severe on me unless it''s soft hair style. How will you be wearing yours?

I was thinkin of something like this......

heeheeheeee, just kidding... I am at a loss as well... :)

Oh that''s too funny!!

I''m thinking of half up/half down as well. My face is kinda round & my cheeks are plump no matter how skinny the rest of me is so I think that an updo kinda emphasizes my round face and chubby cheeks...

I am doing an all updo. I usually do half updo when I attend wedding, so I want something different for my BIG day.

My hair is pretty short, not even shoulder length, so when I got an updo for my trial, hair starting falling out on the back. My fiance thought it actually looked great with some loose hair so i''m thinking of doing it half up for the wedding.

I''m wearing mine up, and it will be ''love knots'' on the top. That is what the lady doing it calls the curls. She did a practice run on it, and it was pretty. It didn''t look severe at all.

She is also my make-up lady, too, and she is wanting to put eyeliner on me... I hate eyeliner!!

I think your dress style can help determine your hair style.

That sounds so pretty Windy!! I would love to have an all updo, if I didn''t have these ''chipmunk cheeks'' as my grandma calls them!! As for eyeliner, it''s a pain, but I can''t live without it, otherwise my eyes disappear (you guessed it, amongst the cheeks!!). What I''m really looking forward to is big long luscious fake lashes!!!! The only thing that really concerns me is that since the wedding is in Eureka Springs I probably will only have one opportunity for a hair & makeup trial ~ I''ve heard that the makeup girls (Aveda) are great at the hotel salon but that the hair stylists are mediocre at best... And it''s not like there are a lot of upscale salons in Eureka... Oh well!!

I wore my hair half up/ half down. It came out perfect, and VERY soft! I also put in porcelain flowers with crystals in the center. I COMPLETELY understand what you all mean by feeling self-conscious of your round faces, mine is so round and I hide it all the time!

Hope this gives you guys some ideas to work off of!

OHMYGOSH ALICIA!!!!!!!! Your hair looks so so so amazing!! I''m going to have to save that to my ''wedding hair'' folder!! That is exactly what I had in mind ~ although my hair is really curly so I think I would have to dry it straight first and then curl it back to get that look. Again, wow!!! Thanks for posting, you were such a beautiful bride!!

Alicia - you looked stunning!!! What a happy shot of you kissing your new hubby while showing off your awesome hair!

Teebee - Will you have your hair done professionally...if so, it''s amazing what stylists can do w/ just a curling iron...I swear, my hair stylist has magic powers!!!

Wow - your hair looks PERFECT Alicia!

Innerkitten, I''m having the same problem. My hair all up looks severe and I have a big nose, which makes it worse.. I''m wearing it that way anyhow, despite my nose, because it will be an outdoor wedding in August, and I will be hot and sweaty with it down. So I had them pile curls high on my heard. The curls were al itel tigther than I would like, and I may have another trial done to see if they can loosen them up a bit.

As a side note, you have a very pretty face, and I bet your hair would look very pretty all up, and not severe at all!

Alicia, really i thought these were magazine pictures! your hair was gorgeous, and you look beautiful!

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I hope the pics help some of you out--I was at a loss too when looking for hairstyles and didn''t have any clue what I was gonna get when I went for the trial! But my hairdresser is known for his classic work, and I trusted him to come up with something, which he completely did!

Feel free to use these pics as inspiration, I hope they help!

Good luck in all your wedding planning, it''s such a fun time!

Teebee,

Your plan sounds just right--all you have to do is straighten your hair out and recurl with a big barrel iron! Your hair will hold it well, I was worried that mine wouldn''t since it''s so straight, but it held up perfectly (thank goodness for hairspray!) but you won''t have that problem! Glad I could help!

Heart Prongs ~ Yes, I''ll have a professional stylist. If it were my usual stylist I would not be worried ~ she has thick curly hair as well so I have total faith in her. But we are getting married out of state in a small town & I''ve heard some mixed reviews on the stylists at this salon/spa. I''m going to go for a hair trial at some point so hopefully we can get an idea of what I want and what they are capable of. My hair is fairly overwhelming to someone that has never worked with it before and looks very deceiving (it does not look as thick as it really is ~ even my stylist that did my hair for 7 years would often not mix enough color because he just forgets how much hair I have). Anyhow, I''m sure it will be fine and if necessary I will just do a few hair trials until we get it right!!

Thanks Alicia ~ isn''t hair spray a miracle?!?!

Mine will be half up. Kind of a "half ponytail". I will be using steam curlers on it before we go in so it helps the girl out with curling. I have a TON of long hair. There is a hairstyle very similar in the Melissa Sweet dress ads.
Found this in the dress thread:

I won't have hunks out of the front, itll all be back.

I love this
