How would you set this 11 carat aqua?

This one is my favourites, not for the shy and retiring, like your stone:

I shan't mention the lapidary artist, however, I recognise the photo style, and it is a beautiful stone (I have seen the video), thanks for sharing! :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2:

It’s actually one I am considering but with 2.5 mm stones and rounded instead of pointed.

I wanted the petals on my 9mm Rubellite ring to be pointed, and they looked pointed in the final CAD that I approved.

However, they are not as pointed in real life as I had hoped when I got it, possibly because the stones and petals are not big enough. However, it is still a gorgeous ring to me as I love it.

BTW, the stone in your photo looks more green than the photo and video I saw, and it is very lovely as I like a bit of green in Aquas!

Congratulations on a gorgeous stone! I loooove halos, but I'll share some ideas that are more complicated than halos. Have you considered a ringdant so you can see it on your finger from time to time?

JAR.. these are earrings but the black rhodium diamond pave with colored stone accents could definitely work for a pendant:

Different kind of halo with colored stone contrast, again earrings but easy to make as a pendant:

A royal jewelry halo:

Halo with some diamonds larger than others to emphasize a shape:

Over the top antique halo:

And finally, my own design, bench photo, not yet shipped to me!

The photos are poor quality and bad lighting. I don’t really see green in it. I brought it to a local jeweler today a setting quote and he kept it for the cad. So I used the photos I had.

I also bought these earrings from Africa gems:

We had a miscommunication where Marc sent me the settings and the stones but he didn’t set them (but I never paid him to either— I blame my Percocet pills for pain. No harm, no foul, so I had to bring them to a local bench for setting).

The ring and the studs are similar in color. The oval is light medium blue. But it’s ELEVEN carats and it’s flashy! I’m very excited about this.

Oh yes, a ringdant as it is big and deep enough for it!

Those are cool to look at, thanks. I have an aqua ring, so I don’t need another, though I did thing about maybe doing a pendant/brooch combo maybe.

@whitewave oops, sorry, too excited and did not see your comment about the oval to be set as a pendant!

A brooch/pendant would be great with a big halo.

However, if it was mine, I would want it to be East-West as a brooch, and North-South as a pendant. It would be a challenge to have such a setting made.

I love the 5th one @Polyhex posted

This one above is plain, but appealing to me in a tactile way. Like a worry stone (I may need one - ha)

This one I think could be tweaked to your stone shape nicely.

You know, I do think I had that bottom one saved also at one point, and yeah, it would be a worry stone and filthy lol

Is that a Singapore chain? I was thinking one of those...

I just don’t want it to flip. What do you all think I need to do to avoid that? Anything specific?

Wide gallery to sit on your skin/ wide space of attachment to the chain/no skinny bail.
I think.

It’s a very big stone so I’d probably keep it quite simple around it but add a bit of detail on the chain.

Or go for something very bold for very special occasions, eg like the one below:

Given the size of the stone and its eventual setting, I doubt if it would flip.

However, an upside down triangular bail as mentioned by @Rfisher would definitely help, IMHO.

I particularly like the top part of this pendant setting.

No flip == the basket should have a wide base and be deep enough that it doesn't let the culet rest against your skin (much better for stone protection anyway.) This is an example of a wide base. The wide open area could also be covered with a decorative element to protect the stone more, as long as it's flat.

Yeah, lol. That second one is what I don’t want to do!
