Hi all,

I finally pulled the trigger on a diamond. I guess I can still return it so I took microscope photos to get everyones opinions. Thanks!
This is the diamond, is was 18k before tax: https://www.ritani.com/products/1-6...r-vs1-clarity-gia-2426622450-sku-d-2o28snqhgy
Here's the GIA report: https://diamond-assets.ritani.com/GIA-2426622450/certificate.pdf

Here's some pictures I took myself: I'm seeing a bunch of spots on the diamond, I even cleaned it with a microfiber. But I can't see them with a loupe.

Thanks all!

Hi, just bumping this up to see if anyone has any thoughts?

Try some softer lighting with no flash to take some better pictures.
What specifically are you seeing with your eyes?
Bright spots like in the picture?

Its an unusual combo with a different look.
That is not bad just different as the combo works well together.

Ok, I’ll try and grab better pictures later. I’m away from my microscope right now.
I’m not seeing anything bad with my eyes actually but I’m also not a diamond pro.

Probably the 40.6/35.0/59 combo...the table being 59% wide with this particular PA and CA pairing. We usually see a bit shallower crown angles (32-34°) with tables larger than 58% for diamonds that are cut fairly well.

Ohhh, got it. I used the HCA calculator and that gave a high score which helped with the decision.
Do you think this is worth 18k?

The above plus,
Lowers are short, grossly rounded to 75 by gia which usual means 75-77 but these went the other way around 73ish.
Simplified: big arrows where this combo would normally be cut with smaller arrows.

How do YOU like the diamond? That's the real question.

Are YOU delighted and enchanted when you see it sparkling in front of you? I think some diamonds "speak" to us more than others do, and you kinda have to see one in front of you to tell how you feel about it. So if you love this one and it makes your heart go pitter-patter, then keep it. If you think "meh" or are waffling a lot then its probably not the one for you.

I’m actually pretty happy with the stone but I also know very little about diamonds haha so wanted to run it by you experts!
