Husband needs help with setting

I'm looking to get my wife diamond earrings for her birthday, and have casually been asking her what she likes. After finding the diamonds, I am now working on designing a setting. My wife said she likes a "4 prong low basket, Tiffany-style setting". Question is, does this make sense to anybody, and would companies like Whiteflash be able to design this? Are there any differences/specifics I should be looking for or asking about? Many thanks!

Would you recommend 14k over 18k white gold for earrings?

14 karat is harder, though I still bent my prongs trying to force the back on. Platinum is heavier, so many don't choose plat because of current or potential ear hole droop issues.
