I’m looking into buying a single Tahitian pearl. Where should I go and how much would it cost? Or should I look into a different kind of pearl?

Maybe 7-8mm? I’m planning on making a pendant and pairing it with an aquamarine. I plan to set in yellow gold and I definitely don’t want a white pearl.

I think 7-8mm is likely a bit small for Tahitians, they usually come in bigger sizes. I’d also recommend PP, they have recently done some live shows and appear to have access to lots of different pearls! Just ask them.

Aquamarine and Tahitians is a wonderful combo!! I don't personally own any but here is an inspo pic that I had saved! Can't wait to see your completed project.

RE: where to buy a single Tahitian, you can try Druzydesign1 on Etsy or CMWpearls (they have their own website).

I haven't bought from either vendor before but they come highly recommended from the other pearl forum! I did meet CMW at a HK pearl exhibition recently and they were lovely, but I didn't buy anything as I was looking for something else that day.

Regarding Carolyn and Nick Ehret (druzydesign1 on Etsy, druzydesign on eBay) I have bought many pearls and some drilled stone beads from them. I like everything I've gotten but be aware they make use of a light box (which punches up pearl overtones and gemstone beads color intensity) and that, while they allow returns, they may block you from future purchases (on eBay anyway.) I have not experienced this (never returned anything) but others have posted about being blocked.
