So, as some of you know, I decided to go ahead and trade in my old asscher for one that''s about the same size, but with better color and more narrow, even steps (My old one had a thick drop step that always looked like a big black square, and bothered me). Because the stones were about the same size, the jeweler was able to put the new stone in my setting today, without having to send it back to Verragio! He even fixed the prongs (they were uneven before).

Here are a couple of pics - I was kind of in a rush because I''m going out of town for the weekend, but I wanted to put a few up before I left - enjoy!

Specs:
EGL - Square Emerald Cut
Carat weight: 2.25 cts.
Color: F

Measurements: 7.19 x 7.13 x 4.95 mm

Table width: 69%
Crown height: 15%
Pavilion depth: 52%
Girdle thichkness: Medium, polished
Polish: Very good
Symmetry: Very good
Culet: None
Flourescence: None
Graining: Nil

Last one until next week - I am so in love with this new stone! I am also very color sensitive, so the H always bothered me - it wouldn''t in an RB, but I could see it in my asscher. This F color is so white, it looks almost blue, and it makes the platinum band look yellow! :)

Just perfect!

OK, I''m back in town & took some new pics this morning - here are a few that I''ve attached.

BTW, I was in Vegas this weekend & went to look at the square emeralds at DeBeers and Harry Winston. I think they cut them for spread instead of sparkle there, because even though they were much spreadier than mine in the same carat weight, they didn''t have any depth, and weren''t as fiery. I liked my new stone so much better than theirs - the miles deep look is to die for! ;) Also, I think that mine has "extra steps" cut into it, because it seems to have more facets than my old asscher. Do you guys know if they cut generic asschers with different amounts of facets?

oh, and by the way, thanks for the compliments on the new stone! I love this one, I''m so glad that I kept looking and found the one that is perfect for me!
