I AM RING SHOPPING!!!

OMG OMG OMG!! He has just left me speechless - incredible considering my incessant chatting!!!

Sitting there eating our chinese take-away he has given me the go ahead to find my ring, buy it and then give it to him for safe keeping until he asks the big question!!!!!!!!! I am blown away!!!! To think I woke up this morning wondering if we would ever get there, but now 11.5 years of togetherness I am looking (not hiding and lurking in the study) for my ering!!!

And to top if all off I casually said, well you just have to set a budget for me now and HE SAID - no I don''t, just go and find what you want!!!!

He is incredible and I am so lucky, but although I had to share this with you ladies, this is valuable diamond searching time so I must be off!

Oh, before I go, he said I wasn''t allowed to tell a soul, but '' you can tell those girls on your internet thing in you want'' - he is just so adorable!!!

It might be an idea

to just run a budget of some sort by him....I think most men have a very skewed sense of what an e-ring might cost. He may need some "educating"

in this category.

Thanks everyone - I swear I have tapped holes in my keyboard with all the time I have spent on line that last two days, not to mention living on about three hours sleep per night - just way too excited. SO thinks it''s hilarious. Can I say FFI - is that future fiance?!

Lost sapphire - it''s funny you mention this - I think he is starting to get nervous, but still ok. Since his decision on Sunday night, I went to three jewellers Monday after work and have found out what the B&M stores are charging.

However, I am either going with a ACA from Whiteflash (depending on imports costs to Australia), or an Ice on Fire H&A from Diamond exchange. Both stunning stones. I am not a dope, I know to get the stone and prob the setting online. I have told him that he would get change out of $6000 AUS which is ok with him and what I was thinking of anyway, but I am sure if I have my heart set on something in the $6000-7000 range that would be alright too. We have lived together for about 9 years, and every cent is ''ours''. He doesn''t have a problem with the ering, cause he knows I never ask for much - no expensive toys, jewellery, even my car is an old bomb but I love it. I think I have been saving all those ''special requests'' for this one ring.

So, I think I will have decided by this weekend, but it will be 0.7-0.75 ct, D-E VS, AGS Ideal, 0 light performance, H&A, set in yellow gold 6 prong (wg head), 2mm band, Tiff style I guess but no knife edge. It is going straight into the safe at home, ready for him to pop the questions

Just wanted to add - I went to Holloway Diamonds today (Gary aka Cut Nut''s store) - totally blown away. It was so hard taking that stunning rings off my hand and walking out the door
