Hi, AJ! I always have loved your stone. Are there perhaps any handshots of the Grace setting with the AVC?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! One of my all time PS favs!! I'm planning to buy myself an AVC for my 30th in March, I hope for my sake it's still available then... but I hope for your sake aj that it is sold well and truly by then! Good luck hunnibun!

Aj your ring is delicious! 6 months ago I would totally have scooped this up! I live in Australia also so it would have been just perfect!! I hope this makes someone a beautiful Xmas gift this year. Have you tried listing on Gumtree? Its free and great for people looking to avoid p&h and insurance hassles.

Best of luck,
Tanya

I too think that would make a great christmas present! I would also love to see handshots (or even the BGD glamorshots) of it in its current setting. Also, how much of a tint does it have in regular, indoor lighting? I know the AVCs are supposed to look great in lower colors, but is it an off-white, or does it look kind of buttery? Just wondering!!! Thanks!

love it AJ! good luck with your sale!

AJJ,
I was looking at the original Pricescope thread on this ring, and that is one gorgeous stone. Good luck selling it. Beautiful!!

Just to let you know, the link to the original PS thread is not "clickable" on your DB listing, so many people might not see the stunning photos of it. You might want to post the original link here. The photos are just fabulous and speak for themselves.

Thank you everyone for your comments and questions / tips (cheers TL, will do).

Laila and atp: I did manage to dig up some handshots I have of the ring with the Grace setting - I am surprised I have never done a 'proper' photo shoot with this setting!

Also here is the link to the thread with all the BGD glamour shots: link to thread

I hope these help. ::)
(fyi: the diamond next to the 1.08ct AVC is my 1.53ct OEC - I think it holds its own pretty well ;)) )

For anyone looking, please find the original thread when I first bought this diamond, which as TL mentioned, has more photos than you can ask for!

Hi atp,
by regular indoor lighting, do you mean incandescent or halogen down lights..? That is a little bit of a difficult question to answer, as every household's lighting will be different..

I can let you know how it looks when indoors during the day with only natural light coming in? To answer your question, when I put it into the darkest, or least attractive lighting area in these conditions, it can show a slightly warm/buttery body tint.
However, the facets are constantly flashing with the pastels such as blues, pinks and greens, really regardless of the lighting..so it is honestly quite difficult to make out the body colour behind these colours constantly moving across the facets..
I hope that makes sense and answers your question?

Although please let me know if you have any further ::)

AJ, wow, it looks yummy in the yellow gold Grace!

It's a beautiful ring, AJ! Anyone would be lucky to have it! :appl:

I agree, very beautiful! And that OEC is gorgeous as well! Your AVC is a nice size for those who like halo settings, too. I love the contrast between a warm color stone and white diamond halo!

Thank you everyone who has made kind and complimentary posts!

:appl: I am very happy to announce that the AVC has sold to another Australian - thank you M -I know you will love it, and can't wait to see the eventual setting ideas!! ! :appl:

The Grace setting has been separated from the diamond expertly by my local jeweller, with absolutely no damage to the prongs or any part of the ring. ::)

I am currently considering whether to either continue with selling it - if anyone is keen on this setting, please express your interest either here or by contacting me through DB.

(admin: if we can please keep this thread open for a couple more days, as essentially only 'half' of this item is sold, thank you?).

Otherwise, the idea is, I am quite happy to have one my colured gems which I've been meaning to set for ages find a home in the Grace setting - that seems like a nice solution ;)

I will definitely miss my AVC :blackeye: It has been easily one of The Most beautiful and mesmerising diamonds I have ever seen, including both online - and certainly by far in person.
However, I do figure that GOG aren't going anywhere soon..and so when things do improve and my luck turns around, there could always be a ~2ct AVC in my future, right..? :D

I'm happy for you, AJ. It is a stunning diamond. Can't wait to see your 2 ct one day!

I'm that lucky fellow Aussie and this is also my first post! I'm a longtime lurker and just couldn't resist this lovely gem

Can wait to see the AVC in person...Arjunajane, you've been a pleasure to deal with and if you keep the setting, am looking forward to seeing the lucky coloured gem in its new home!

Congratulations, Mich! :appl: I knew it wouldn't take long for that beautiful stone to find a new home! And AJ, I think it is an excellent idea to use the setting for a colored stone! Settings sell at such a discount that it is a shame to part with one if you can use it for something else!

Awesome news!! :appl:

Congrats, AJ and Mich!!

Mich, you got a stunning diamond that's for sure!

So happy for you, AJ. I must admit I was tempted, but I honestly don't have the extra funds available at the moment. :(sad I'm very glad you've found a chuffed buyer. And yes, GOG in another year or two sounds just right. :naughty:

Thank you Ginger - I sell the AVC with a mixture of sadness and relief..but having dealt with such a lovely buyer who I know will appreciate the stone as much as I did has made things easier.

Thanks DS - at the moment, I am deciding between using a Gene F purple spinel, a Doug M Fanta spess, or a Barry B lavender spinel - all 3 I've wanted to set and enjoy for ages.
I know, I know - that means nothing without pics! Perhaps I will start a new thread in CS when I have the time..

Thanks all who made this thread positive and fun.

It's a shame to close it off, as I'm enjoying chatting to ya'll - but I guess the decision atm is to keep the Grace setting.. ::)

And its not all bad...let's not forget I still get to enjoy my chunky stunner whenever I feel like it! :cheeky:

Thank you Mich!
As we've discussed, Mike Robinson's work is just impeccable, I can't fault one part of my experience, let alone any one tiny mm of the ring!
He has also been so patient, discussing and drawing up a number of new designs for setting gems of mine (since the OEC ring's completion) - and he never gets frustrated with me if I change my mind (or worse, needed to pull out of a project due to personal circumstances)..I realise that behaviour sounds "normal", but I can think of at least a couple other popular vendors who would never be as understanding ;))

I do hope you two end up working together, if only for my own voyeurism! Do keep me in the loop lovey.
Congratulations on what I'm confident enough to say is a very fine purchase, and thank you for a great transaction!
:wavey:

Yes, AJ, you DO have a gorgeous ring to wear, so that makes it much easier to part with the other stone!

great news! Glad to see that it sold :)

I love what you did with the Diamond AJ. Simply beautiful!! :)

I don’t know why you’re stalking all of OP’s threads and bumping them but she hasn’t been active since 2014 and this thread is from 2011 and the other is from 2010.
