I've been looking for one forever and this guy is coming tomorrow.

Carat Weight: 0.41 Carat
Color: Natural Fancy Deep Grayish Yellowish Green

Comments: The color of this stone changes temporarily when gently heated, or when left in darkness for a period of time and is known in the trade as "CHAMELEON".

On a side note: This is my first purchase from Diamond Envy. They have been great so far.

Congrats, are you going to set it with your suite of other FCD's?

no, I think this stone will be a part of a separate project. I was thinking a tiffany soleste inspired ring. I can't wait to see what it looks like in person.

It's a really intriguing color. I watched the video a few times, fascinating. I look forward to your photos of it when it arrives. Hurry! :))

It won't come until 8pm tomorrow night, which is a bummer because I will be at Christmas dinner with my in laws. That means I won't actually be able to go pick it up until after Christmas. I'm not very patient when it comes to waiting for new sparkly things.

Can't wait to hear your review.

I have a few diamonds that same color, although not chameleons, and they look fabulous in rose gold.

It's here. I must say this was the most thoroughly packaged diamond I have ever received. I had to get through 9 layers to get to it.

Here's when I first opened the box:

Here's a couple pictures of the chameleon effect when it's heated:

Lastly, here's a picture in resting state with my fancy vivid orange yellow for some contrast.

I know diamond envy is a new company, so I wanted to share my review as well. I would purchase from diamond envy again. They had great customer service, fast free shipping, and very nice presentation of the stone.

Wow, amazing on the packaging alone! Is the "chameleon" part of the chameleon diamond due to temperature or lighting type?

I heated the diamond with a lighter to get the color change in the photos.

I'd love to see pictures of your stones

That is a lovely moss green! How do you get a colour change once it's set? Is body heat enough? Do you have a black light to show us some fluor shots?

Once it's set you could see the color change by keeping it in the dark or by heating it over a candle. I don't have a black light yet.

What an interesting diamond! I love the sage green color. Can't believe the packaging -- a real workout for you.

Interesting! I didn't know that stones changed color based on temperature alone; I always thought it was lighting! Live and learn.

I bought a black light today. It really glows. It's not just fluorescent it's also phosphorescent. I couldn't get my camera to pick up on the glow in the dark room though. The stone shown with it is the same vivid orange yellow shown in the other picture with no fluorescence.

Fabulous, what a fun stone!! What color would you say the fluorescence is? Hard to tell from the pic, it looks orangey though you'd mentioned the cert says yellow. Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see how you set it!!

Cool. I've never seen one in person and I'm intrigued now.

To me it did look more orange than yellow, but it could just be the hue of the black light combined with the fluorescence.
