Here is the link to my original thread: Thread
This is so you can see my original mind set and see the existing setting I have.

I just completed the purchase of THIS STONE for just over 7.1K. You can also see a video HERE. It is the stone on the right.

As you can see from my previous thread, I originally had a budjet of 11K. Certain financial situations led me to consider reducing this budjet. This stone isn''t quite as big as I originally planned, but I don''t beleive I sacrificed anything else, and doubt if anyone will be able to judge a difference between this and 1.4ct.

So far the service at GOG has been great. I have nothing but great things to say about Sarah, Jon, Darrin, and Vicki. I should receive the stone tommorrow. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

Now I just have to sit on pins and needles until I actually propose and get to show it to my (hopeful) future fiance!! The plan is the last weekend in August.

Its a great diamond - congrats!

That looks very nice. Excellent I should say!

Congrats!

Beautiful diamond--you did good! Please come back with pics of the finished ring.

I just picked up my diamond and...WOW!!!

It looks incredible. It is a sparkling ball of fire and brilliance. Having seen other people''s diamonds, I was not expectin this. This is much better than anything I''ve seen. I have read a number of comments here stating that diamonds lose a lot of there brilliance in direct sunlight and can actually look rather dull. Not this puppy. I had it out in direct South Florida sunlight, and it didn''t lose a step. All I saw was bright white intermingled with multicolored flashes. It was almost too bright to look at.

Needless to say, I could not be happier. I know my FF will love this diamond. In addition, GOG has an absolute top notch staff. I very much enjoyed working with everyone there and can not recommend them more.

I will be sure to snap many photos as soon as I get home and share them with you guys.

Thats great, so pleased for you!

Cant wait to see the stone in its setting. It should be stunning! Congrats!

Congrats! What a beautiful stone!!!

OK, here are the pictures I promised...

Sitting in the future setting. It''s obviously too big for this head, but it is just a peghead, so it shouldn''t be a problem to change out.

On my man-pinky. As a comparison my FF ring finger is 5.5. The ring is currently 6.5 and fits well on my pinky.

Shiny!!!

Oh, and I love the setting!

icekid,
The tentative plans are for the last weekend in August. I plan on surprising her with a weekend trip to St. Augustine.

Jon,
No problem. I look forward to working with you and the rest of your staff in the future.

Thank you everyone else for the comments. I am glad you all like it. I put a lot of time and effort into picking out the perfect stone and setting, so it''s nice to read some positive feedback. Let''s just hope SHE likes it. I''m pretty sure she will.

I''ll be sure to post photos of the finished product in the "Show Me The Ring" section once the stone is set.

beautiful choice, I love that setting. very unique, but beautiful all the same. good luck!!
